Maybe in Ohio. This is a tourist destination in the summer and we have crowds of them, covid or not. I checked around a bit and didn't find anything fun for cheap. At least I have wheels. Now I'm trying to learn patience.
Well shit- now it has to be fun? I'm talking renting a Grand Cherokee or something. Plenty of power, room, 4x4, all the features. No- it's not fun, but it's not a crappy little EcoSport either. You can rent that for around $100 a day, even in Colorado- right now. I just looked.
Back to the "well if was was a 'insert euro model name here' dealer" thing which is what prompted this suggestion. If it was an Audi, it would be over $100K. Easily. That $25K difference will rent you a nice SUV for 250 days while you Raptor is being serviced. Chances of it being at a dealer for over 8 months is slim to none. You are dollars ahead with the cheaper Ford truck and paying for your own rentals vs paying a huge markup when you buy it in exchange for "free" service, loaners and coffee down the line.
I realize some people's time is worth too much to be arranging their own rentals etc, and that's one of the reasons luxury dealerships can get away with the outrageous costs. If you are worth $1000 an hour at work- you are better off to pay the luxury tax up front to save time down the line.
