My SYNC and text notifications (iPhone)

Whitney, I was able to use my daughters iPhone 6 with no problem sending and receiving text via SYNC. So it must be a compatibility issue with the latest iPhone release. (The iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus) That is unless another forum member has had no problems with an iPhone 6S or iPhone 6S Plus.

So far my customers with the iPhone 6s Plus have been able to use the feature with no problem.


I think the issue is specific to your device. You may want to try resetting your phone at this point.

I have reset or "restored" my phone to factory settings. Mentioned in post just prior to your first post. After I restored, I no longer get the phone not recognized by SYNC message. Prior to that SYNC would not recognize the phone for messaging. Not sure what to try next?

iOS 9.2 has bugs with Sync 3.8.

Do you have SHOW ON LOCKED SCREEN selected in the settings? Go to SETTINGS>NOTIFICATIONS>MESSAGES. This has to be on to receive a text. Also, the screen has to be locked when you get the message.

Verify these settings and keep me posted.

Changing the "Show On Lock Screen" fixed my receiving problem. I still can't send a text through SYNC while parked but that does not bother me.
