Lowrance HDS-5 Baja Off-Road GPS Chartplotter.

Is there a download from Lowrance thet gives the detail of terrain mentioned above by GBROWN 1867, detail that would show a 'berm' in the road?
I have been looking at the Lowrance and haven't been able to figure out the software/maps as of yet.

I have been looking at the Lowrance and haven't been able to figure out the software/maps as of yet.

A person could get that by pre-running the course and marking it or getting a copy from someone who has. I'll be rocking one of these before the next run.

Lord knows I've pushed my truck plenty hard but damn, I think there might have been a little one-upmanship going on out there. Even a trophy truck has it's limits, let alone a Raptor, and I think you guys may not have noticed that. Still looks like an awesome time though.

The trail would be rated a 4 out of a 10 as far has how tough it was. The G outs and small kickers are all part of it. As for the frames bending well I would have to say it is a design flaw for sure. First off if you check the Ford Raptor web site they are using the truck way harder the we were. Secondly we have inspected the frame were the bend is starting and I also had a well known trophy truck engineer take a look at it and he agrees that the design is poor for lack of the real words he used. On the frame rail were the bump stop in built in to it their are a few points that should be pointed out. 1. The bump stop is made with a pre buckle built in to the frame rail. 2. The frame it's self is not consistent. It's a full frame at the top and a modified smaller section at the bottom were the bump stop point of contact is. 3. On the in side of the frame rail their a huge hole in the frame rail so you can access the bump stop nut. In our opinion this has no structural strength for the impact zone of the bump stop. If you combine all 3 of these and the fact you only have about 4" of up travel on the rear suspension I am no surprised to see this happening at all. We are working on a gusset support kit for the frame and I'll have more to tell later. As for the future Monster Energy Outlaw Raptor events we have decided to make GPS units with the run programed on them and VHF radios with our frequency mandatory. This will not only help navigate the trail but also be useful for your own adventures. I have calls in to get dealer pricing on the units so I can pass along the discounts to those on the run. I was one of the trucks (#7) that ended up with a bent frame. I really tried to prebrake and have deavers, so thought I took precautions to avoid frame damage but not the case. SDHQ put on the frame brace when they installed upgraded shocks and hydraulic bump stops.
