All 14 trucks bent their frames. Some worse then others. The cause of the bend is: Where the rear axle hits the bump stop, it forces the bump stop into the frame causing it to buckle. It seems that once it starts to go the problem gets worse very quickly. The first way you can notice it is, the gap between the bed and the cab is not even. The top gap is bigger and the front of the bed sits higher then the back. (looks like a dump truck) I was one of the 4 trucks who completed the run. I did bend my frame. However, it was minor compared to some. I have spoken Outlaw and SDHQ, they are both coming out with a kit to box the frame and SDHQ offers the Light Racing hydraulic bump stops which they say will help prevent it. I am talking to Ford to see if they will fix the frame under waranty (long shot I know but worth a try) if they dont fix it, I will have it staitened, box the frame and install the bump stops.

Wow, thanks for the clarification on the frame. The rails are pretty puny under the bed, so I guess its not a big surprise. I've ran through some pretty rough stuff with mine, but you guys must have REALLY pushed your trucks. The trucks that had deavers; did the deavers help or hurt the problem?

I think the Deavers helped the handling (less wheel-hop), but I'm not sure about how or if they contributed to the g-outs. I had a BIG one and came in nose-down. Just from seeing the pattern of Deaver and non-Deaver trucks, they certainly seem to have contributed to the frame situation... not sure why. I'll bet someone on here could explain the energy dissipation nature of the Deavers vs. the stock frame.

Sorry for the bad pics... had to scan in....

We did push the trucks very hard. Overall the Raptor is an amazing truck. But it does have its limits, as we all found out. I am running the Deaver springs and I can's say if they make it better or worse. Stock and Deaver both seemed to have the same problem. Forgot to say before, this was a great weekend and I had a blast. I would do it again with a few more mods, a much better cb or race radio and offroad nav is a must if you want to run hard. The final g-out that got me was after running a road at 80-90 mph came over a rise and saw a two foot berm at the bottom. Got on the brakes hard to scrub some speed, then hit the gas to up weight the front end. When I hit hard, I looked in my mirror and saw that the bed had moved. If I had the offroad nav I would of known it was there.

Big DITTO on the LOWRANCE and radio... I also have to say that I could not have imagined how much fun that event was. Great group of drivers/passengers/support and would definitely do it again. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to improve their knowledge of what these trucks can do.

Who said we averaged 102 mph? I saw the other side of 110 a few times and 80+ more times that I could count. We stopped a lot so the average was pretty low - especially at the beginning.
.

I was just giving SPRSNK shit....

I can't believe how bad those frames bent

Does anyone have a better picture of the frame issue? I would like to see the bump stop and the bed to cab fitments.
