because the symptom at first only manifests on a cold start; that is to say, at least 8 hours since the last start up, fully cooled and oil allowed to drain down. If the sales bot, porter or other dealer staff got the truck for you, there’s no way you’d have heard it. Smart sales bots will have the truck started once they know or think you’re coming, so you won’t hear it.
as for the knock, we’d need to hear it up close and personal. Injectors on the 3.5TT EB are pretty loud.

Interesting... The Ford dealer I bought the truck from has agreed to listen to hot idle knock if I swing by. We will see what they say... I wont be surprised if they try to write it off as a normal sound due to loud nature of a fuel pump or something like that.The cold start sounds OK, maybe a tiny rattle for a split second. That's not what bad phasers sound like.
That warm idle knock sounds really bad IMO.
