Not sure if this is just me or not but for anybody with the updated filter I would check the reservoir about every 500 miles. I have checked mine twice now with about 500 miles in between and it was full. I used to check it with the old filter every oil change (every 4000 miles). I can't believe there is that much blow by in my NA motor just have intake exhaust and the 5 star 93 perf tune. Of course it has been pretty cold here. And mine looks very milky.

This ^^^.... With the old style there was hardly any oil in the can and I would check it all the time. Now with the new style I was shocked how much was in there. Definite improvement in keeping all that crap out of my engine!!

Going to check mine later today.

Put about 300 miles or so since I installed it.

Will report back.

So I guess mine has little to no condensation?

Short runs and depending on how much driver is "into the throttle"
will determine the amount of condensation in oil.
These short runs will change the chemistry & PH of oil
and is why one should discard used aka waste oil.

It is important to not just reach 'operating temperature'
but, to thoroughly 'heat soak' engine, including exhaust to
evaporate all condensation and a by-product of combustion, called H2O.

Just a note here for those of you that are motor heads and understand this----use a oil that has a LOW NOACK number. Several good ones out but that just by itself will help to keep the evaporated oil out of the can.

Originally thought I'd never need this but I decided to check it again today after 250-400 miles and already a full teaspoon of oil in the canister. I see this modification as a sort of bandaid for this type of issue. But how exactly do we prevent blow by?

I have about 600 miles on my 2014.

Put this unit on at mileage 200ish.

Just checked it today for the hell of it. Was planning on doing it at oil changes.

It was about 2/3 full of a light mocha looking substance. I was amazed how much was in there.

I had an Evo 8 that I fabbed a catch can for. A primitive device but worked well. It would catch a tablespoon or so at a time. This was an FI car that was running 25 to 35 psi of boost.

I'm sold on running with one.

Good lord---do the research and understand what you are getting in the container. "Blow By" is the least of what you want to capture. CONDENSATON and other contaminates are what you are keeping from going back into the intake..

Just make sure to keep it from getting full.

Put breathers on the truck and then you don't have to worry about it...except for the oil mist that will permeate your engine bay and coat everything including headers which can, in extreme cases, cause a fire.

Just run the can.
