Way back in these threads somewhere JLT said to take the old filter out and just use the new filter.
I only have the new filter installed in mine. The old one is on a shelf somewhere in the garage.

I received and installed the new filter yesterday. However, it didn't say anywhere in the instructions to take and keep the old filter out (it actually said to clean it with a degreaser). I see that you only have the small filter in. Should I not run them both?

Yeah, just the new one. Before all it caught was oil. Now it looks like it catches oil and moisture.

I have been wanting to get one of these. My truck has 53K mi on my truck and I do use off-road mode so it sees R's. My question is do any of you have any suggestions on how to clean some of the damage that has been done before putting this on??

I know there are a lot of variables between trucks, but in general, do these need to be drained more often than every 5,000 miles?

Yukon - In regard to the last photo you posted, is that what was collected in yours after 4,000 miles?

Did you mean 500 miles?
If you look back to my post # 125 on page 13 I have pics up of how much was in there at approx. 800 miles. It was a little over half full.
I check it and empty it every 500 miles or so.
