I think the low oil pressure light is just coming on because the engine in the trucks is stalled. Has nothing to do with the actual problem. Truck stalls from some unknown issue, oil pressure falls off because the engine isn't running. Light comes on.

Dealer just called, said the fuel pump and pump module both were bad, kinda makes sense, once this winter it failed to start once, no fire just turned over, let it sit for 40 minutes and it started.

It sounds like things are progressing in the right direction, Tango_9. Come back and tell us how the repair goes; I'm here if you need me to step in and assist.

That is correct.

Crystal,

Is there anything in the works with Ford for a potential recall or TSB for this? Trucks shutting off while driving seems like a serious safety hazard that Ford needs to address.

It's not just trucks!
My daughter's 2013 Titanium Escape EB did the same thing in 40 mph traffic last month.
I'm just glad it wasn't on a turn, but she has that electric steering don't know if that cuts out or not.
We had it towed to the dealer from the college campus.
They replaced the BCM.
And we did the engine wire harness TSB a month before that.

So this is pretty much spread across the new Ford line, looks like that anyway.

Hi Nick,

I don't have access to our engineering staff; dealerships are usually the ones who find out about recalls/TSBs first since they're in regular contact with our technical folks. You can always reach out to the service manager at your local dealership to see if they have any additional info for you.

I waited for a little while before I updated, the fuel pump and module replacement did the trick, no further issues , probably jinxed myself. The Ford dealer that did the repair was better than I would have expected, Doan Ford in Belmont Ohio, really took care of this stranded traveler. And thanks for your concern Crystal, I see you help many that are on this site.

Mine did this yesterday, coasting to a stop at a set of lights - just cut out and Low oil pressure light came on - Guess its time to replace the pump and module (Given my twin turbo set up!)
