This is unacceptable

My truck did the same thing. Low oil pressure came on and truck stalled on the highway while merging with traffic.
I came close to getting hit by a semi.
The raptor is stock and oil level is perfect.

Someone reassure me that this isnt serious. I was backing out of my driveway which is at a upward angle. I turn the wheel right at the top once on the road. Power steering seized up and engine shut off. On my information display(2011) it said low oil pressure. I turned the key and it started right up. My gas was at 29 to Empty. I just drove 25 miles from my town to ft. Payne and havent had a single problem since. I run 93 fuel. It has 13000 miles and i believe 29 % oil life left. Any advice would be appreciated

I've had this happen when the truck was newer. Same scenario. backed out of drive. (nose of truck on incline) turned wheel and she shut down. Happened about 5 different times over 5 years.

She started up and ran fine every time. No issues in over two years. Just turned 49,000 miles and 4 y/o.

Hi tmp123,

Sounds scary! Did you go to your dealership so they can inspect? How many miles are on your truck now? I'm here to help. :)

Looks like all of us with inclined driveways need to sell our houses.

I had this happen to me in SD after failing to make it up a steep climb first time. Backing down that hill was some what unpleasant with no power steering and brakes.

I'm putting it down to the angle I came to rest at, as I restarted at the bottom with no issues and made it to the top with a little more pace.

Tom, I had this same thing happen to me as well. Did it happen to be in the Baja area we stopped at? I tried making it up a steep incline with the diff locked in 2 wheel. 1st gear manual mode, came to a stop and as I transferred my foot from gas to brake it rolled backwards enough to kill the engine I believe.

This all seems extremely dangerous if it happens depending on the situation. Is there a way to turn off this feature that could get you killed?

Hello Crystal

I had the same thing happen to me two times. I was driving and the engine shut off and power steering gave out I had to put it into park to start up then it was fine but this is a hazard and I took it into my local Ford Dealer (Villa Ford Orange CA on Tustin ave) both times this happened and they swear nothing was wrong on both occasions please advise. Also my truck is fully serviced before every service date and fresh oil this happened. Only 8000 miles. My service rep at Ford is Sebastian if you can call and help me fix this issue because it is a huge hazard to throw my truck in park on a busy highway with cars going 70mph! Thank you.
