Engine cut out
Driving in snow yesterday, slow and cautious d/t poor road conditions. At stop sign attempted to stop but started sliding out into intersection. ABS braking kicked in. Thankfully no cars coming at me. When I realized I would be stopping just shy of about half way into the intersection, I decided to give it a little gas to keep me going. This is when the engine cut out. Being half way through intersection, and not expecting the engine to die, I do not know if the oil light came on. I put in into neutral and thank God it fired right up and I was able to keep going. I have a Volant CAI on my '10 and I know with it, the truck idles lower than with the stock air box. I am wondering if this somehow contributed to the stall? Never had this engine quit on me before. Afterward, I checked and engine oil good, no loose vacuum lines. I attempted to recreate the driving conditions and could not get the engine to kill. Needless to say, this is rather concerning. Glad to here most of the cuts have been when people have been slowing down to stop, rather than when starting out from stopped. I am planning on filing a report with the NHTSA.
