From what I was told it did have the updated cam phasers. It didn't come with the part numbers for everything but the shop that did the install days that they it was a fresh long block that was delivered from Ford just a week before I had it installed.

@unashamed7 Another option is Mountune. For ~$13-$14K you can get a complete built motor…figure $4K or so to install, and you’ll have enough left over to get the Garrett/Full Race turbos and still be ahead.

Headgames is doing my heads, but I may still use Mountune for the short block on my build.

I thought about doing a Mountune long block like that but I was already pulling a RMB Stage 2 block with Headgames ported heads that I or Goosetuned could never figure out what was wrong and get it to run trouble free. Lots of datalogs and changes that just never would run right. And I mean lots! Plugs a jillion times, coils, port injectors, pull DI injectors and clean, change downpipes, change vvt solenoids, change HPFP, lots of money spent. It finally sh*t the bed so I went back with a fresh long block in hopes to be worry free. So far it pulls harder than the build block with heads and I'm not even done with the 93 tune and still have E85 to go.

Can't be more than 4.0L and run boost in the class th car was developed for.

5.5L was the max N/A and Ford wasn't going to make a 5.5L V8 just for the GT.

The Coyote is deriviative of the 4.6L mod motor from 1996. The most reliable V8 in the history of the planet.

Ford has made the modular V8 engine much less reliable as they've jacked the power from 215HP to 700+ over the last 30 years, but at the same power level - the Coyote block is stiffer and the cylinder pressures are lower than the Cyclone derived 3.5L EB engines.

Keeping cylinder pressures low and having a block stiff enough to actually hold the crank bearings in place is what matters when it comes to keeping a high HP engine intact. The V6 loses to the V8 on both.

Why didn't Ford just turn up the boost some more on the V6 for the Raptor R if it's that easy?

I just replaced my motor in the fall here in Gilbert AZ with a brand new Ecoboost for $21k with a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty. My truck had 93,000 miles (it’s a 2018) and I change the oil at 5000 miles regularly. Major bummer. I looked into several 5.0 or 7.3 options and they were at least double and sometimes triple what I paid to repair it.

Not even sure. I asked if I could find out what actually happened so it didn't happen again, and they said ford usually doesn't break down the motor to find out? Seemed weird. They said they manually cranked over the motor sounded like a mess internally?

I asked the same when Ford replaced my long block and they said they would have to charge me to tear it down to find out exactly what happened. I def declined that.

I’m waiting for my engine to be replaced now at ford, I’m curious how my warranty with ally is going to be, from everything I’ve researched and the ford dealer said, I have the major guard warranty which is the best warranty ally offers. Ford said new engine but im wondering if it will come with all of the new stuff like yours or if it will be all old parts and only new engine. Not sure what new engine will even mean but I should have an answer and eta on repairs , Monday. 101k on the truck, I bought it with 99,878. So i literally haven’t even gotten to drive the truck. The dealership is buying it back after the repair and looking for another raptor but I’m not sure if I should just keep this one , I only planned on 2 years with the 2019 and was going to get a newer one or brand new but I am worried the value of the truck is going to be way down with the engine replaced.
