I would try @Foodservice again and / or a different dealer.

How do you typically engage four wheel drive?

You could test the effectiveness of the vacuum yourself to help narrow down the issue. Jack the front of the truck up so both front wheels are off the ground (or do one at a time). Spin the tire and watch the front axle spin. Now start the truck and spin the tire. The front axle should not move. If it does, the vacuum is not holding and the IWE is engaged when it is not supposed to be.

Have they replaced any components yet? Or none?

Thank You for your donations to Avery. We hit our goal!

Yukon Joe I am confused wouldn't the iwe be engaged when the truck is off since you would not have vacuum to disengage it? Or is something else at play when it is off?

I have a question then. I had pass issue with my 4x4 in the front iwe so I changed one that was broken (broke it at snoball). that was last week, so today I was driving in snow, I was on a lake with 5 inches driving around in 4x4 since I started the truck in the morning 3 hours later 4x4 stopped working I know it's the iwe I was hearing it and I didn't stop the truck since the morning. is it the solenoid? cv joints?

Yes sure did and that went nowhere as whoever called me from her department said the would look into the issue and never called me back last year.

I have a Ford Shelby and a Ford Raptor, at over 120k I spent for both vehicles and still no help whatsoever from Ford !

Hi ITSALLGOOD,

Definitely let me know whenever you have difficulty contacting someone so I can help. Since it's been a while since we talked, PM me your details (full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership) and I'll check out the current status of your concern. Please be advised that if you retain an attorney I'll be unable to assist.

I have just experienced the popping noise under load for the first time today. I had a loaded trailer that I was trying to park in the back 40 when I lost traction and couldn't pull it any further. Put it in 4 high and accelerated lightly and all I got was a loud popping and banging from the front end. It took several attempts for it to lock in. Could this be an isolated incident or just assume it's the vacuum line and make an appointment at the dealership?

This may be a dumb question, but doesn't Ford have a real fix for this? They put a t-case and rebuild my front diff and I went camping a few weeks ago towing a 8 foot pop up trailer and the truck is popping again.
