Dreaded 4x4 popping and disengaging

my 2012 is at the dealer as we speak. got a call at lunch and the service writer said they couldnt get it to make the noise. he also said there was no code. my guestion is would this show a code. i told them that i know that there is a problem with the vac system or the IWE and they said that they have never heard of a problem. why has ford not found a real fix for this.

^Kinda different example, but the same thought. The ford dealerships I asked to align my truck, stated they'd never seen anything like it in their lives and wouldn't touch it even with my couching. Basically what I'm getting at is 99% of the mechanics at dealerships are working at dealerships instead of what I consider a real shop for a reason.

Where are you located? I'm certain one of us can point you into the direction of a shop that can knock it out in a jiffy.

Im in delco PA just outside of Philly. picked up the truck and told the dealership that its f ed up that I know more about the crap 4X4 system than they do. I know its warranty work and they dont make as much money but come on just fix the problem.

I had my local dealer question the torsen front diff because their manual didn't show it was stock. My truck (at that time) was a 2012 and they were looking at the manual for a 2011. *********. Btw, I was in service for the exact issue you have now and there was no code thrown. They went on to explain how they wanted to tear apart my front axle (because I clearly installed aftermarket parts /sarcasm). I told them no and took it elsewhere.

I didn't say it but I'm fairly sure "are you F'ing kidding me" was conveyed by my facial expression while I, in a very controlled voice, explained to them the error of their ways. But I'm a girl so clearly can't know more than them.

Faulty IWE , TORSEN , ETC !

My 2012 has been in the Ford Dealer on and off for over a month and still no fix for the 4x4 IWE popping and grinding when under a load on a slippery surface like snow or sand .

Now the trans is starting to have a delayed or harsh shift around 70 mph while it downshifts to make a pass etc. Ford says just a normal characteristic of the vehicle just like the faulty 4x4 system since day one. I have demanded that a Ford engineer come out and take a drive with me before I pick up the defective truck for the third time at this dealer and the dealer says since that they can't find a fixable issue Ford won't send an engineer out .

I am debating on a class action suite to wake up Ford at this point . 18k unhappy miles without a fix so far !

Yes sure did and that went nowhere as whoever called me from her department said the would look into the issue and never called me back last year.

I have a Ford Shelby and a Ford Raptor, at over 120k I spent for both vehicles and still no help whatsoever from Ford !

That is very unfortunate! Sorry to hear. I think the two things I would do if you haven't already... 1) Touch base with Crystal 2) Work with a different dealership

Having a Raptor that the 4 wheel drive system won't function properly with 18k on it? The is unfortunate. Having a dealership that won't rectify the situation? Unacceptable!
