Wow from the first picture I would say that the y pipe is bent that's why you have that gap there. That's a terrible design if thy messed it up like that. Do you still have that gap with the motor on there too? It should go y pipe then gasket motor then ring if you could get some pics with it like that then that would be great and if there is still a gap I would definitely send those pics to DHM and tell them about it a request a refund and go buy the badlanzz kit

Yes, that gap is still there. It's not bent, it's because of that lip you notice on the y-pipe. The gasket is sitting on the lip which leaves that gap because the gasket doesn't have enough flex to form around the lip.

That lip sticks up about 1/8th of an inch.

Hmm that's a little odd that it's like that it's almost like the gasket isn't thick enough for it if I were you I'd send it back but that's just me sorry the kit isn't working out for
You man that really sucks

Or I wonder if the metal ring is suppose to go on first so that the gasket will sit flush i don't know I guess you could try to move the pieces around and see what works

Tried that also. Metal Ring sits on top of that lip also. I think you're right. I'm going to send back and get the badlanz.

Couple more pics just to make sure I'm not losing it. Hell, I haven't even had a drink yet!

Y-Pipe showing lip - Notice the uneven plate

Motor directly on the y-Pipe - Notice the gaps - also how the plate welded to the y-pipe gets further away from the motor on the right side - VERY UNEVEN!

Lastly the metal ring - same as the motor - uneven as hell!

As for the Badlanz - I followed the link and was unsure. Do I need to order all the parts seperately?

1. 3" y-pipe with cutout
2. 15' wiring
3. Switch

Nevermind - found the other link two pages back. I get that whole setup PLUS the 15' wiring

Wow yea that lip sticks out pretty bad.

For the badlanzz kit all you need to order is the the 3" custom kit and it comes with everything you need but the wire is only the 10 foot wire I'm not sure why they don't just put the 15 foot wire with the kit maybe because most people only need the 10 foot one i don't know haha but all you need to order is the kit and the 15' wire. I know a few guys just used the 10' wire and up the switch in the glove box but I'm not trying to reach all the way over there just to use it so that's why I got the 15' one. So that's all you need is the kit and the wire if you want it

Just found the thread that Im sure now was the reason you PM'ed me. WOW! Your Y-pipe is ****** up! The cutout itself is made really well by DMH, but they order the y-pipe attachments from someone else I think. It looks like you got a bad one. No wonder you were questioning it. I basically take my mods in a box to my shop and tell them to make it happen. LOL I know, Im a terrible DIY guy.

Haha hey there's nothing wrong with having a shop do it man I would take my truck to a shop if there was a decent one around here but there isn't plus I get some satisfaction out of doing it myself :waytogo:
