I am rather agree with you guys who don't rush to the phasers replacement ! I was always wondering what I will do if I was concerned , and my plan was to do nothing ! When I see how a mess it is to do the job, and also the potential problems if the mechanic miss something (not only on phasers but on all parts disassembled) Also some do the job without remove the body which seem to be better ??? In an old video , I remember the mechanic said about failure phasers "that's make noise at cold start , that's all"... So ???

Mine is 04/19. As long as you had FSA 21B10 installed the new calibration prevents the failure mode.

I'm assuming that the TSB 21B10 is the same as FSA 21B10? I'm guessing Field Service Action?

The one where Ford sent out a letter to reprogram the PCM? And it also extended the warranty if you had it completed by the stated date?

Anyway that's the one I had completed, TSB 21B10 and still doesn't have a shudder as of today @ 35,*** miles.

So if everything thing above is correct then it's my understanding that I will never experience this phaser rattle issue on my truck, correct?

21B10 is the recalibration, which is a Field Service Action (FSA) only. If you had it completed by 02/22 you received the extended warranty, which is 21N03. There is a separate TSB that applies if the phasers need to be replaced.

So, you develop an actual problem at startup but you don’t hear it because of the phaser rattle.

Did I read it right that the FSA extended warranty is up in January '23? If so, not much time left given most dealerships are scheduling way out

Nothing has changed. 11/19 is still the build date cutoff for trucks in the affected population.
Mine is a 4/19 build and has the issue after the software update. It looks like at 42k miles the damage was already done prior to update. I purchased at 32 and other than some towing the truck was babied.

Yeah there’s some on here that still believe it was the software causing premature failure and because of pride are too arrogant to believe the mechanical update is the fix. Software was a bandaid just my 2 cents carry on.

Just dropped’er off this morning. Service writer only wrote it up as rattle. Not phaser swap. I guess they have to diagnose first?
