I don't think you HAVE to get them replaced, sure the rattle is annoying and I know that there's a million threads on the subject, and after reading most of them I'm just going to drive and enjoy my truck. Of course that also depends on when and for how long the rattle presents itself, a second or two during cold starts - not an issue in my mind; all the time - time to replace.
Mine got to the point of the engine shutting off at every stop sign and red light. It gets frustrating

There is a tsb to replace the sunroof guides, this fixes about 90% of them. After that, sell it and get a gen 1
Would have been a lot smarter if he had the preventative recall done and cleaned/lubricated the sunroof instead of allowing the seals to dry up and stick.

No need to downgrade.

Sure bro- keep lubing and rubbing them seals. That'll help. Well, as long as you got the fix, and the re-flash and blah blah. Same crap, different components.
