I used to think the same thing, but the 2013 Taurus SHO has all of these fancy features (push button start, keyless combination pad, fob never has to come pocket, messaging-heated/cool seats). I'm sure we'll start seeing these features in the F150s very soon.

Bingo. Trucks are always the last to get technology. And I'm tired if it.

As for the other guy posting about Ford being behind the times, put a Limited up against the other luxury pickups and Ford is right up there with them. Only with their recent updates for 2014 are they on par with Ford. The 2015 F-150 will put us back in top dog spot, just like it did in 2009.

I'm not sure if I follow your post but are you saying that luxury ford trucks have 8 speed, lowering suspension and shutters that close in front of the radiator, giving it 29 mpg on the highway? This is stuff Ford dreams about on their concept vehicles when other manufactures are actually putting into production.
The things that I am most disappointed in when I bought my Raptor is that I could not get remote start in Canada and the heated steering wheel.

I was referring merely to luxury items. But I guarantee you the all-new 2015 will have those features.

And Raptors in the US don't have the heated steering wheel.

About what a Raptor costs. Maybe less as long as you're talking about half-tons.

And I beg to differ, my Raptor is a great highway cruiser. It's comfortable, luxurious, decent technology, holds/pulls plenty of cargo, and is safe. Not to mention can take damn near anything that I'm planning to throw at it.

Bottom line: if I wanted a car, I would have bought one.

Just thinking out loud here, but I think the reason they don't have the automatic keyless entry and the pushbutton start is because they have the combination pad instead.

My wife has those features on her car. It is very convenient, but the thing is if you lock the key in the car it just beeps at you and won't lock. Makes sense right? You need the key to unlock, and if you leave it in the car in theory anybody who gets in just by touching the door can start the car and drive away. They don't even need to find the key.

With the combination pad, one of the things I really like about it is that if I'm playing sports or otherwise worried about losing my keys, I CAN just lock them in the truck. If it was automatic keyless entry and push button start it's probably not such a good idea to be locking them in the car with the combo, since the next guy to come along can just touch the door and drive off.

Given the choice between the 2 I'll take the combo pad. I can lock crap in the car in relative safety, and I can unlock/lock the door even with gloves on, don't have to dig through pockets for my keys.

I owned a 2012 Edge which had both the keypad entry and proximity key functionality.

With the push button start, you have to have the key fob in so many feet (in your pocket, etc...) of the vehicle for it to unlock the door &/or start the engine. If you leave the key fob in the car, it usually will not let you lock the door upon exit, but you can lock it with the keyless comb pad, but since the FOB was left in the vehicle, you can grab door handle it will unlock immediately. So you don't ever want to leave the FOB in the vehicle unless you want your car stolen.

That's kind of what I figured. My wife's toyota won't LET you lock the key in the car. Not sure how it knows, signal strength maybe.

Call me lazy or foolish but I like the ability to lock my keys in the car. Of course I don't do that if I'm in a sketchy part of town. Usually only in places where the truck is in view anyway.

my definition of cruiser is good mpg but ya big ass car too lol.
also I'm referring to what trucks were intently designed for well actually farmers made the first truck out of a car put a bed on it to haul stuff. <money use to be there now it's town boats flowers crap like that. town want mpg luxury farmers want power power power towing ability power hauling ability power. then a farmer made some extra coin and wanted more power and a softer seat that is how the town folk got in. lol jk you get the point manufacturers are going to go to the money and make it affordable or luxurious so we come back to paying too much for are f150 I bought it for a purpose. to me it's perfect just the right amount of both.
