i have an appointment with dealer in two weeks and I was going to have them repair based on tsb. Sucks to hear that’s not the fix. I thought the TSB included replacing the temp sensor and a lot of people reported back saying the TSB resolved their issue?
It fixed the issue for some people who had a biased or incorrectly mounted evaporator temperature sensor, but apparently there’s more than one factor contributing to the freeze up condition.

Thanks. Given weather is cooling off some and I won’t be using ac for much longer this year, I may hold off and see if any new info/TSB come out over the winter. Would hate to have my dash ripped out for nothing. Unfortunately I still have to keep dealer appointment to get bad shock replaced . SMH

Happened to me. Evap freeze over. Turn off the AC and keep fan on high. After 5-10 min you’ll feel the air coming out full speed again. Wait a little bit then cut the AC back on and it should work fine.

If you start out in morning and run on low fan speed i think ice builds blocking airflow . Turning compressor off will allow it to melt .
This seemed to work.

Issue just happened to me on a 6 hr trip with my dog in the truck

Sorry to do a necro thread- however,
Ac on high (7) its 100 ambient . Only around 47-52 out of the vents and will not get cold. Low side was 35-40 so i dont see and issue there (didnt bother hooking the high side) the radiator fans are running full blast. Is the evaporator frozen or is something else wrong? Cabin filter was replaced a year ago with active charcoal . Please advise

It was not , over the course of an hour drive the temp should continue to drop as the heat load is evacuated out of the vehicle. It was fine on the drive to the location. Temps were 41 on the vent on a similar ambient. Something definitely happened on the drive home. Even the metal part of the hose on the low side didnt feel that cold.

if the suction is not cold and compressor is running thats low freon ,if its 134a the low side should be about 45-50 psi with a 90 degree day

Yea I'm thinking its low. Today its somewhat normal. But its only 80 out. 39-42 out the vents and the fans arent racing.

Spoke too soon… its struggling to cool the cabin again. Looks like dealership this week. Hopefully its a component failure lol . Not looking forward to spending 200 on 1234a.

Ambient temp reading on 8” display is super slow to update.

This is obviously not a help and slightly OT, I just rented a Ford Edge in Florida. The AC was like a freezer. Unbelievable how they can get it right in some models and not in others.
