I only use Mobile 1 Full Synthetic in all of my vehicles and never once and an issue. One is a jeep over 22 years old with the original motor. Maybe I'm lucky but I am a believer in Mobile 1.

Ford is adamant with us as a dealer that the vehicles need to run the specified viscosity of oil. So as mentioned do as the manual says.

If you like your warranty, you can keep your warranty... or something like that. :)

It's more about the engine tolerances being so close any more that they are designed and built for a specific viscosity.

I've always been a believer in going by what the manufacturer, who builds it and provides the warranty, has to say.

hey look at that, a real response!...

God forbid someone get a new truck and ask simply questions?

Remember, Free advice on the internets can be worth as much or little as you pay for it.

Because of that, your best bet ( when the MFG's manual has a direct answer to your question), is going with the factory answer.

Just remember, you got the above advise for free, please treat accordingly.

If the Owner's Manual (remember, you paid for that manual when you bought your truck) and the oil fill cap in the engine compartment (you paid for that, too) agree, believe them.

If they don't agree, things can get fun and interesting in a hurry if you point it out to the Ford Regional Service Representative and ask for a resolution. :)

Ok. We all give and get advice. It's not free, it's a community effort. When that trade off is taken for granted by guys that don't respect the give and take you lose that.

The Manual gives two oil options. Thus the question.

I will continue to partake in the community effort by helping anywhere I have expertise. If you choose not to do the same, or choose to ridicule someone for daring to ask something you feel they should already know. Then have fun with that.

For what it is worth I believe the engine REQUIRES 5w30 for some sensors to work properly. Can't think of the name of the one sensor I am talking about but I heard those using 10w-30 had issues with some of those sensors.

Free advise is just that free...and I have seen some very bad free advise on this site from time to time.

You will find no ridicule from me, just light hearted facts. Look at my posts, I've done my best to assist where I can. Thin-Skinned will receive some road burn, Snowflakes will melt, and I will lose no sleep at night.

And by the way, any advise that would steer you away from the warranty required and manual specified engine oil is leading you to a potentially unhappy day. So Pretty please, follow the requirements in the F'ing manual, and enjoy your ride.

Why are you so caught up on what you give around here? Either help or don't. Your choice. Might want to take an economics class though. Nothing's free when your getting something in return. And we all are here. I absolutely do agree with you about people being too sensitive, I mean GD, you lost your **** over someone asking which of two oils the manual recommends is being used by others. I mean GD that's some sensitive **** man.
