Here's the thing with the AUTO and HID thing that I read a while back when I was researching this exact thing.

With AUTO, the truck will turn them on before the vehicle starts. When you crank the vehicle, the voltage will drop and, according to what was in the article, can damage the components during the drop. Then, they go back to full power after the start cycle.

It's believed that the HID arc should be at full power to "warm up" for a specified amount of time before being turned off and stuff... What happens if you start it up and then pull outside and it's bright? Then they go right off again, wasting a start up cycle.

That's basically the cliff notes of what it said.

I use my lights manually because I don't use the auto because I can remember to turn lights on when shit gets dark and I like to run with just the parking lights for a while at dusk to look good. :D

Solid & concise explanation, I trust the source, so that's all I need to hear. That's how I'll operate my lights too... I'm all about the parking-lights-at-dusk thing also... hell that was the whole point in asking Ducati to hook me up with the Evil Eye setup anyway.

Right on guys, I never use auto for that reason, they come on before the truck starts then you have the draw of the starter. These ballast require a low start up amp draw compared to most other companies but I still like to have the truck running when firing them up just to be on the safe side.

Greg, if the flickering issue continues just let me know, I will ship you new ones. Remember 2 year warranty on all the parts.:waytogo:

this is my mock up set... ring is white but its so thin you barely notice it. I use aluminum tape to block out the dark area it blends in with the chrome. I can also change the amount and angle of whats blacked out.

Sorry guys, I've been MIA for a while, family emergency, but all is well now so I'm back in the fold. Just opened my boxes and ohhhhh shit these lights came out AMAZING!

Our guy Ducati nailed my desired setup.... All murked out with color matched WHITE shrouds hiding a set of amber evil eyes. My truck is gonna look pissed off with these bad boys... I can't wait.

Here's a sneak peek (ignore the glare of sunlight on the housing, they are in fact all black other than the shroud)

Please get those installed...if they look as awesome as I expect...I just found my new lights.

I guess you and Brian at Sick HIDs use different circuitry, on auto when I use remote start, the Angel Eyes light up before the motor starts up but my HIDs do not turn until exactly 3 seconds after the motor is running, I asked him about this before I sent my lights to him I told him I wanted to use the Auto headlight function

I tested this several times last night, my lights have never flickered in anyway
