It looks practically OE on the end of a shock. The other part I have a set of spring spacers, but those are that exciting. Just some aluminum pucks. In black it might all blend in enough that your average dealership wouldn’t even notice… not that that’s saying much these days.
Got a few black parts back from ano today. Black looks really clean as expected. It passes the “what would I personally rather run on my truck test” so will be doing everything in black now. Maybe will consider other options down the road, but keeping it simple for now. Can never go wrong with...
One thing I will say I like about 37s and jumping with how I’ve got my truck set up is there’s about 2” more clearance between the ground and the truck at full compression. These things do get stupidly low at bottom out. To the point that bent skids and LCA tabs aren’t terribly uncommon. That’s...
The stock forged wheels are honestly pretty good. They are forged and can be converted to bead locks. That doesn’t leave much to want from a performance standpoint.
Definitely not a stupid question considering many overlook this and wonder why their suspension rides rougher. Whenever ride height is changed, the ride height sensors should get recalibrated. This can easily be done in forscan. I put together brief overview of all things forscan related to this...
Ford didn’t decrease travel on the 37 trucks for no reason. If you truly bottom it out, clearance is tight as is. This post here shows exactly why https://www.fordraptorforum.com/threads/installed-37s-on-gen3-35-raptor-no-issues.87003/post-2017518
A static clearance test isn’t perfect either...
Definitely agree that clear has more of a prototype look to it. I’ll actually have a set of black parts this week since someone wanted black and our anodizer had a run I could sneak them in with. Will post up some pictures of those ones they are back.
The thinking with clear ano was that it looks similar enough to the aluminum parts Ford uses like stock control arms and top hats so it wouldn’t be too out of place and then it’s the most reliable in terms of parts never get scrapped at ano really. Could be inclined to do everything in black...
To be determined still. Is there a particular color you’d be looking for? The full batch has not been sent to ano yet. If enough people said they wanted a specific color we’d do it.
That’s entirely fine. The top hats only bolt up to the shock bucket in one orientation because of the bolt hole pattern, but there’s nothing to clock the top hats to the shock shaft or clock the shock shaft relative to the shock body. I like to try and get the top hats oriented about right so...
It’s infinitely easier with a lift. Like less than an hour. So I’d find a self service garage and book a couple of hours to be safe. With a lift, you pick it up just enough for the rear wheels to be off the ground and remove tires of course. Then put a jack under the rear differential to support...
I made my raptor “slower” by putting 37s on it. Thing is it’s an off road truck so it’s actually faster for what it’s for. A raptor will run circles around a lifted f150 off road. It’s not even close to the same level. We aren’t living life a quarter mile at a time here.
It goes full stiff mode. The part internal to the shock is sprung towards the stiff side, so without power you get the shock as stiff as it can be. Still functions though.
It’s interesting to me that Fox decided to brand it as their own instead of leave it as Baja Kits. In the mountain bike world, which is something I’m extremely familiar with, Fox owns two well known component brands. I can’t think of any products those brands have historically made that have...
I'm sure they are decent enough shocks. They should be able to hit higher damping forces, which is a plus. There's certainly some funny business with the launch, though. Like no mention that the front shocks will yield 13" of travel reagardless of truck, so 35 trucks would see a travel decrease...
A little analysis... I measure the shock travel on stock 35 front shocks at about 7.25". That's 0.4" more than what is listed for these. That would mean they are designed around 37" wheels and will produce about 13" of travel. So, a travel decrease for 35 trucks. It appears for the rear they are...
It helps when you know how shopify stores are structured.

Ride height sensors are what’s being calibrated. There is nothing in the shock itself that needs any sort of programming. This can be easily done with forscan and you just tell it roughly how much gas you have.
For those considering installing this themselves… this is straight from the horses mouth (the FTC https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/businesspersons-guide-federal-warranty-law). Pretty much you can’t be compelled to pay a dealer to install it unless they have a waiver from the FTC...
