So the only Raptor I've owned was a 2012, what happens in the live valve versions when the "live" part fails? Does it still perform like a regular shock? Or is it a "holy crap, something is broken" feeling?

It goes full stiff mode. The part internal to the shock is sprung towards the stiff side, so without power you get the shock as stiff as it can be. Still functions though.

My rears started buzzing on my 2020 around 70k miles intermittently, now @ 80k miles & it’s @ every startup & occasionally while driving & now @ least 1 of my front shocks is buzzing too…honestly…it’s very annoying that Ford & Fox haven’t developed some program to have the shocks rebuilt through ford dealers working w/ Fox - OR in the very least work a program where you could buy new OEM Fox shocks & Ford would at least give a credit for the worn take offs, if my 2020 w/ 80k miles that’s been flawless w/ the exact spec I wanted (no sunroof to leak/maintain as well) - no cam phaser BS, no plastic oil pan, big screens in the 801a trim etc. still came w/ NON live valve shocks that are much more easily sourced new (& cheaper) & easier to get rebuilds done too that would be the best case all around for people like me that want to keep the truck for longer term.

I may even consider trading it in for an F250 Tremor,
