What makes you think the 18s are any different? The engines are all built and put into rack able storage units. You could very well buy an 18 and have a motor put in it that's from the "17" build year. You think Jerry from Sandusky Ohio suddenly said well shit, I've been hand tightening the oil pan bolts in 2017, but I'm turning over a new leaf in 2018, gonna use that ******* torque wrench this year. Here, if it will make you feel better, yes, no all the 18 don't have the same problem. There, sleep tight.... Lol

Jerrys' been dealing with the whole agent orange thing since he came back from the Nam, hope they don't cut his health care. Well in that case, I'm sure the oil pan bolts will be tight, but the truck won't come with an inter cooler because Jose has been selling them out the back door for scrap.

Got the oilpan leak on mine as well, just turned over 13k miles. The thing that ****** me off the most is that out of the six different stealerships I called in the area, none of them are willing to give out a loaner car while the work is completed, even though it is a warranty issue. "Did you purchase an ESP with rental coverage?" Why the hell does that matter? I just dropped >$60k on a top of the line truck and now it's defective. Fix it on your dime and give me a loaner in the meantime.

Well I don't mean to poke a stick at the proverbial bear here, but they gave me a rental car. Oh wait you live in Detroit, I have an idea. Go over to Ford Corporate, go down to the basement parking and look for the spot marked Hackett. His keys are in it and I'm sure he wont mind you taking his car as the loaner. I mean I'm sure the CEO of Ford will totally understand and strives for the highest mark in customer satisfaction. It would totally be worth sitting in jail for the night or two. After the media got a hold of the story you'd be the town hero.

Your $60K truck is nothing special to a Ford dealer. They sell "normal" F150s that cost that much or more everyday. Explorers and Expeditions can easily be in that range. Superduties can reach near $100K loaded up. None of those owners get a loaner vehicle either. The only Ford owners that got loaner vehicles were SVT owners back when SVT was limited to certain dealers only. Once all the dealers could get SVT products, I believe that went away.
