great answer Frank!!!
only 90K miles on it, but I'm sure it's been rebuilt at least once....
I kinda expect it from 50+ year old seals, I guess that was the direction I was trying to take that argument.... am also just frustrated that a six month old truck is doing what it's doing................oh well

Sure it's frustrating, new vehicle, not cheap, but things will go wrong, regardless of how much you spent. This will get fixed and it will be a distant memory soon enough.

Heck Ferrari has had recalls...

Dropped off my truck on Tuesday to get the leak fixed. They said it would take a couple days to repair because the silicone needs time to cure completely before oil is filled again. Got a call this morning saying it's ready to be picked up now, so it took exactly 2 days as promised.

I was given a POS base model Fiesta from Enterprise, which Ford corporate paid for according to the service advisor. Great customer appreciation when I just bought a 65k truck from you...

Oh well, better than nothing I guess.

Reminds me back in 1994 when I purchased a new LT1 Chevy Corvette. Had the car for a month and the clear coat on the rear bumper began to flake off. They brought a Geo Metro (3cyl) around as a loaner car while the rear bumper had the clear coat applied. They had my trade in (1991 Corvette) and I asked at first if I could drive my Corvette I traded in and they did not want to do it at first but they finally caved in and I was back in my old Corvette.

We have a BMW M3 and it is nice when I take the car in for service they usually give us a 5 series or an X5 as a loaner.

They owed you nothing for a loaner. You got something. Be happy.

You can believe that if you want. When I pay my hard-earned money for a product, I expect it to deliver as promised. If it has manufacturer defects, the manufacturer has let down their side of the bargain. Therefore they owe it to me to make things right (repair and loaner vehicle).

If your warranty included a loaner, you should get a loaner...if your warranty didn't include a loaner and you got one, you got more than you paid for.

This is simple business and contract 'math'.

if a dealer wants your business, they'll go beyond what is expected by the customer. my wife took her M3 in for a cracked fog. marin dealer tried to give her an x3 and charge wayyy too much for fog replacement. she walked and went to Berkeley, they set her up with a 4 series, reasonable cost for fog replacement, and fixed an annoying rattle from exhaust which entailed a new muffler replacement,,, charged to BMW. they now have her business.
