My dealer can't pull that particular scam on me as it's a small island and I can count the number of special cars on one hand. What she could do is just sell it to a higher bidder since our agreement is an old school handshake.

Bone Job 101. They realized what money could be made and now the allocation has changed. Never trust car sales people. The greed is real.

Thankfully this is just the new model demand. Give it a couple months and orders will be much easier to make and come end of next year the dirt bag dealers that still have units sitting on the lot wanting 10K markup will be calling everyone to make a deal. The week after I bought mine for under MSRP I had two dealers that would not even sell for MSRP including one that had a 13 on the lot when 14's were out started blowing me up wanting to make deals under MSRP. Ford is not going to limit the production numbers like the GT350's. They will just be limited by supply of parts at times, we will be seeing thousands produced just like the Gen1. Look at how many 13 and 14 Gen 1's were built. Ford has the production down now for the Raptor and will be pumping them out, just have to wait a bit for the initial demand that filled the slots to die down.

Hell this happens with every new special edition. Same thing happened with the Z06 recently. and the Z06 previous as well. Since they are not true limited production vehicles just waiting it out will net you one with out the sticker shock.

Yeah, but Ford dealers take it too far. They'll jack the prices up or sell allocations to other people for years for specific models. Example, the GT350. Its not even a matter of desirability as all desirable cars eventually slow down, but they'll keep the prices too high for a long time. It really leaves a sour taste in your mouth. I'll never forget when I put 2 deposits down on terminator cobras back just before they released. I had bought a 2001 Cobra from the dealer just 6-7 months prior. I had an official order and deposit and they acted like Ford just didnt pick up my order when in fact they sold them to other people. Back in 2012 when I was looking for my raptor too. It took me FOREVER to find a deal on one. I had to get mine in Virginia. Nobody wanted to deal on them.

GT350 is not like the Raptor. GT350 is a limited production car. Ford is limiting the number they build to a very low qty. So dealers will always be ripping people off on them unless you happen to find a dealer that does not screw people over. I wanted a GT350R but I know I will never get one since they are only making like 200 a year and the mark up is insane. If I get a Gen 2 it will be in at least a year or so and when the dealers have calmed down. I will then go place an order for one at like $1k over invoice and wait
