Gave me the option to come in and pick it up, or they could cut me a check and mail it to me. I chose the later.

I would call ********. I bet someone walked in the dealership and offered over MSRP and they just gave the allocation to the highest bidder. Dealerships have been known to do that and I wouldn't see if any differently. I would call their bluff and just for the hell of it and to give them shit, call them back and say you were really looking forward to this truck and you will pay $20k over sticker for it. Bet they will tell you a different story and then you can curse their ass out for the asshats that they probably are.

Dealer had only 3 allocations? What happened to Ford will build as many as need be if there are buyers?

That was just the marketing department talking out of their ******* before consulting with someone who knew anything. Happens to the best companies unfortunately.

So all this time since July, you never had an order number, checked with ford service for updates, or did you? If you never had one it sounds like they only had two allocations and were hoping for more and had you as third in line... if you actually had an order number and the order was accepted by Ford I would say that sounds fishy and would contact Ford with questions.

Yes, I had an order number.

#1002 with Zimmerman Ford in St. Charles IL. Gave $1000 deposit.

They are naturally going to refund it, but I have a feeling someone else walked in after seeing all the media getting 1st hands on it last week. That person had deep pockets and the dealership gave me a line of BS instead of just telling me someone else is willing to pay more....

The dealership I work for has 2 Ford stores. We only got allocation for 4 at each store.

SAME, SAME, SAME exact thing happened to me last week. Ordered 7/30. Its a confirmed order, been checking with Ford on FB and the whole shebang.

Got a phone call, dealer said regional rep alerted them that they over stated their allocation and I was assed out. Returned the deposit. The sales man was just as pissed as I was. He said hes leaving the order in the system but cant guarantee itll be picked up. Oh for the record this dealer had 4 initially, and now its only 2 and I was 3rd.

Anyways, did alot of red-eye, recon that night reaching out to dealers and was able to get another order in with a dealer that's a lil larger and im right in the middle of his allocation. Deposit, build submitted, order confirmation again. Now im like 20th out of 30 or so at this dealer.

So now Im checking on 2 orders to see which one hits. Based on where im at in the new allocation line im thinking Spring now. I did write a letter to Ford stating my displeasure with the process.

Frustrating...

Good for you. When I ordered my 14'. I had two deals going on and thankfully the 2nd one didn't require a deposit. Part on the agreement on the 2nd one was that I would only buy his if it came in first. Had a buyers orders and everything. First one came through and was closer to me so it ended up all working out. I have a very hard time trusting dealerships when buying a vehicle. Not all but most are only looking at the money and not the relationship.

Rick,

Glad to hear im not the only one. The 2nd dealer understood my issue and was knowledgeable about the whole process (I was kind of testing him) as Ive become a self proclaimed expert over the last few months.

The 2nd one did require a deposit though. I just gave the money form the original dealer to the new one. The first dealer was nice enough to keep the order alive. He hopes it gets picked up too so he can make a sale.

Im just happy to be back in the game again!

I was looking at your earlier posts and its very possible the dealer was taking a higher bidder on my MSRP order. I kinda though the same thing but then I saw this same exact story. It is possible Dealer #1 could be jerking me around though.
