I have seen a Ford body shop replacing a frame on an f-150 that hit a fire hydrant in the middle of its cross member just to keep from totaling it out. That shop told me the repairs were in excess of $20K

Got nailed by a girl trying to beat a yellow light.... Hit dead square on the left front tire... Had the truck for less time than I had it on order. Had it towed to best shop I knew who said frame is both bent and pinched and the roof is twisted in addition to all the front end damage... Insurance decided that it's still repairable (shop said no effing way) so they towed it to another place that claims they can repair it. I get the sad feeling i'm about to end up with a very expensive POS that i'll never be able to trade or sell... Insurance refuses to give me adjusted value compensation stating that it's other driver's fault. Her insurance refuses to accept liability b/c there were no witnesses and it's he said/she said even though she TOLD the cops that she was trying to beat the yellow..... Grrrrrr just needed to rant.

If it’s a he said she said....who is listed as unit #1 on the crash report? Unit #1 is the party responsible for causing the crash. Tickets do not have to be issued to assign blame.

Make your insurance agent do the leg work and go after her insurance company....this is what we pay high premiums for.

So the cop in me makes me wonder how you got hit by someone "trying to beat a yellow". Does that mean you proceeded through a red light? Making a turn and failed to yield right of way? Explain direction of travel and help me understand as someone with a yellow light still has right of way 100% of the time.

FYI I got pulled over this weekend for speeding, my cruise was set at 68 in a 65, which seems petty.

The State Trooper asked me for my drivers license and insurance. I handed him both plus my employer ID. He looked at my employer ID, back at my DL and said 'Sir slow down and have a nice day'. I LOVE my get out of jail free card.....

I feel your pain, wrapped the front passengers side around a telephone pole 2 weeks ago with 8000 miles on it. Insurance company sent it to a ford certified shop to do the work. They ordered a new frame and a bunch of other parts....$25500 for the repair. They said since there aren't any used or aftermarket parts to get they just order everything new from ford. Witch is probably a good thing. They also can't pull bent aluminum back cause it'll just crack. Get a life time warranty on all the work though.

Haven't had a Raptor in years. How is that relevant? Kind of ironic you get stopped for such a petty speed considering how petty you are with your posts. You work for the State as a systems analyst and you think you have a get out of jail free card. That's hilarious! More like, get out of a speeding ticket issued by a highway cop for just 3 over. I think the head of BLM would get to skate on that hefty offense. And I'd rather have coffee made from bat guano with the head of Peaceful Streets.

It takes in excessive of about 75% of the vehicles retail value to claim a vehicle totaled. Frames get replaced all the time.

This is why I have USAA as my insurance company. I never ever hear this story from a USAA member on a claim they made.
