Ok - after 12 glasses of tequila the edit switch is off.
Although I have company gas cards - still - the ride in a Raptor, the sound, the pull when you mat it - does that not overcome the guilt factor regarding dollars spent on gas?

For me it does. Whether it's my dime to fuel it or not - the point is that this truck is ******* hilarious in 2nd and 3rd gear! First I'm not so crazy about, but the other two I'm just blown away each time I eat a mercedes or bimmer for breakfast.

Dab - we all got our stance, and you as a senior member here certainly have a say - but each person must make the choice based on what they consider important to them. For me, this truck is a stress reliever as I've stated in other threads. For some, it's the street queen effect. Neither is better, as both give the owner a sense of belonging and satisfaction.

If ya can afford it - buy it. You won't be dissapointed if you use as intended.

Yeah, decided to rip down the drywall ceiling in my garage today, which also serves as my office space for our branch here. The mold about killed me so I'm medicating tonight.
But my comments were sincere, and hope that all can realize we gotta be nice on our posts. I better sign off for tonight though...
Cheers,

I am sorry I didn't understand you. Please remove the **** from your mouth.

So that is why you quit the bicuspid grind and are now playing with sex organs all day. Congrats to you, hope your insurance pays out well.

PS i expect better from you, but given your past few posts in this thread i guess my expectations where misplaced. (translated: "you are a *********, good sir i hope a crate of ***** falls on you")

I hope my opinion is right that fuel only goes up to $5-6/gal & not the 400% increase I saw in 1979 during Jimmy Carter's presidency. I started med school with a wife & 3 of those 5 kids I put through college. Gas went from $0.39 to $1.65/gal ($12-15/gal today's $$). I couldn't give away my 1978 Chevy Suburban & was desperate to get out from underneath the payments.

As for the 2011 Raptor I just bought, I am guessing the kid had saved for a while to get the down payment to buy just what he wanted (been there, done that). Then 7 months later something changed. He needed my F350 & no payments more than his Raptor & $800/mo payment. The FX4 made it feasible to sell him my F350, since the FX4 had no problems doing the jobs I had been feeding $4.50/gal diesel to my F350 beast to do.

But I get what you are saying & totally agree the Raptor is definitely a 1 of a kind drive. Even if gas goes to $6/gal, to me it is still worth it. But if gas goes to $12/gal, like it is in parts of today's Europe, I don't know.... then it will be cutting into my hunting, fishing & other toy money, not to mention the grief I would get from "the boss." My Raptor would be spending a lot more time in its cage.

One other thing, you are absolutely right that modifying an FX4 to make it more like a Raptor is going to cost mileage. My FX4 has gone from ~ 18 mpg to 16.9 mpg at 1000 miles after putting on the Raptor wheels & tires. I have attached a picture of my odometer at 7749 miles or ~ 500 miles after adding the Raptor wheels & tires. I estimate final mpg will be in the in the low 16 mpg range, maybe high 15 overall, but Hwy only is still ~ 18.0-18.5 mpg at 70 mph. I don't know if this performance is typical of most FX4 5.0L. But I definitely would buy "new" if FMC put an EB 5.0L in a Raptor.

Your numbers are off old man.

What cost $1.65 in 1979 would cost $5.69 in 2011.

Inflation Calculator: Bureau of Labor Statistics

Stop being a ******* drama queen/troll and go back to staring at crusty vajaja's. No one wants to be around a grumpy troll of an old man who wants to come into a thread and act a fool.

Also, at least put some effort into what ever lame attempt at a come back you are going to muster. Extra points if you can include a midget and gay unicorn (the best kind).

For a recent product of a gov school, at least you know how to look up the average inflation over the last 32 years & then plug it into a calculator.

Now try this math, take $1.65 & divide it by $0.35 & you get what fuel cost inflation was from 1979 to 1980. I think that number is at least 4.5x. Now multiply that by today's $3.6 which was the cost of gas today. That number is ~$17. By the way, in 1979, there were empty stations, gas lines & you could only fill your car on even or odd days depending on license plate number. We also had a Dem pres who didn't believe in increasing energy production anymore than our present Dem pres does, but he did like printing money to cover deficit spending & inflation was 13% by 1980-81.

It is my opinion gas will be only $5-6/gal gas, but who really knows when our gov is spending $1.5 trillion more than it takes in each year. That requires printing a lot of "funny" money, since there isn't enough extra wealth in the world to cover that amount of borrowing. If the world currency moves away from the dollar, $17/gal might be a good price if there is gas to buy. If that happens who cares, at least we got to drive Raptors while it lasted.

Instead of being just a another петух сосунок, tell us why you think buying a Raptor is the right thing to do.

The pay is pretty good ~$200/hr &, but the work is hard. Do you have any idea how hard it is to keep a "straight face" all day, 70-80hrs/wk?

Really **** sucker is all you could come up with in russian? tisk tisk, i know old people can have a hard time with creative pursuits but when trolling on the internet you should at least attempt. Maybe you should stick to mastering the phrase "Pokazhi pizdu detka" it may pay dividends while staring at those crusty ***** all day. Seriously you should have been able to muster a more colorful insult then "**** sucker", i almost feel bad for picking on an old man who lacks creativity and internets wisdom.

PS

You are still wrong ********.

lol, ps i speak several languages (russian is not one of them), should i try and make my self look smarter by sharing boring/bland/mundane insults with you on the forum? If you are going to try and play those cards, at least do it ******* right. Come up with something colorful/amusing for an insult in some other language. Or maybe just get your ******* numbers straight when you do math, no really it takes all of 10 seconds to harness todays technology (which you some how managed to find a "how to get on the internet for dummies" book given your posting on this forum). Btw word of advice next time you sign up for a forum, dont use your email address as your screen name.
