Oh and in regards to the topic of the thread.

Buying a raptor is like buying any other good/product/service.

I bought one because i want one, and i can.

Same reason i have 4 boxes of cigars on my desk, 5 assault rifles, 3 shotguns, and 20k in computers in this room. BECAUSE I CAN AND I WANT TO.

If i was of the personality type to try and rationalize everything down to qualitative/quantitative analysis of utility I would live in a different house, have a different wife, and do a different job. But im not that big of a *********, so i is what i is.

GD! You have written the most clear reason to buy a Raptor or anything else that makes life worth living.

Hope you won't mind if I use your arguments, the next time my wife gives me **** for buying the things that make it worth working the 70-80hrs/wk. She doesn't understand why buy new guns, mules/horse or new trucks when the old ones are working fine. "Because I want to & can afford it" just about says it all.

Now if we can only convince others to leave us alone to be able to buy & enjoy the things we want & can pay for. In my neck of the woods they are threatening to close another 50% of ORV roads/trails, even though 3/4ths of our local national forest is already closed to motorized use. In my hospital you can't even smoke in the parking lot, but tell a super fat nurse to stop eating,... that's harassment of the "eating disabled." Out here we are drowning in all the PC BS.

lol, ps i speak several languages (russian is not one of them), should i try and make my self look smarter by sharing boring/bland/mundane insults with you on the forum? If you are going to try and play those cards, at least do it ******* right. Come up with something colorful/amusing for an insult in some other language. Or maybe just get your ******* numbers straight when you do math, no really it takes all of 10 seconds to harness todays technology (which you some how managed to find a "how to get on the internet for dummies" book given your posting on this forum). Btw word of advice next time you sign up for a forum, dont use your email address as your screen name.

Actually I took a year of college Russian in the 1970s when we thought it might be important. That was the only line I memorized & have saved to cut & paste when forum rules discourage PC incorrect insults. If you remember the movie Patton, that was the line said by the Ruskie to Patton towards end of movie.

I use e-mail, because I'm not a computer geek, just a doc with nothing to hide. But your advice is appreciated & will be taken.

As regards the numbers, the point I am trying to make , & as smart as you are, keep missing, is the 400% increase in price, not the historic inflation rate. My son who lives in Europe already is paying $12 US/gal which explains why diesel is big over there.

You should pack up and move out of hippyville northwest and find somewhere else to live! ;)

ps, lets work on your creative use of internet insults. Once you embark upon that voyage it becomes a life long sport full of hilarity and awesomeness.
