Which suspension???

I am looking to replace front, rear shocks, leaf spring and add bump stops on my 13' screw. I am looking to smooth out my on road drive as well as increase the off road capabilities. It is my daily driver and there are not too many off road opportunities where I live except corn fields. I want my cake and eat it too! Can you guys give some feed back on what you have gone with and if you are really happy with it? My main focus is making on road driving feel as smooth as butter. I was looking at RPG with their tuned Fox 3.0's, Icon or King. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm really leaning toward RPG but wanted to do some due diligence before pulling the trigger.

Go with the Icon front and back Plus UCA and save a ton of money by not getting the springs or bump-stops as I don't think you will really need them.

I swear by the Outlaw Raptor bump stops and I love my Kings. I have not tried any other shocks. Isn't there something about Ford reenforcing the frame in the 13? Bump stops might not be needed on the '13. The Kings smoothed out Arkansas and every set of bumps on the road for me. It is a night and day difference.

That would save $50. I am looking for the best ride. Would the Icon provide a better ride? I don't care about $50.

I have f&r Icons and love the ride on the road so far. I have only run the truck off road at the snoball500 and it performed great soaking up what ever I hit. It was nice to drive up to the run with the setting of the Icons at the softest, then drive the first day get a feel then make a change to compare the second day run. I do not have the rear bump stop setup or springs. I was waiting to see how the Icons worked and helped the wheel hop and so far they have stopped all hop I had with the stock set up.

It's your money and Raptor but I just don't get why the stock suspension on a brand new truck isn't sufficient especially when you say, "It is my daily driver and there are not too many off road opportunities where I live except corn fields."

You're going to be hard pressed to justify spending thousands on an aftermarket suspension that will handle your requirements as well as the stock suspension. But that obviously is not your concern.

That said, I suggest RPG's product line over all the others. They've done their homework and absolutely have the best shock solution with their own settings on the new Fox shocks.

If you like a stiff rough ride, to each their own, but IMO the stock suspension sucks on the roads here in IL. If I would have known that it would exaggerate every bump in the road, I would have kept my other truck. Personally, I prefer not to hear my teeth chatter while driving down the road. I have since learned in another post that the stock raptor suspension is rougher than a standard F-150. Since I got the truck at invoice, I don't mind spending a little extra to get the ride I expected. From reading other threads, upgrading the suspension will improve both on road/off road driving.

must be something wrong with your truck then, cause every other thread concerning the streetability of this truck, people have said its the smoother and comfiest truck they have ever driven.

and at the end of a the day, its still a damn truck. you want a smooth ride go get a car or something.

Have you taken it to the dealer to make sure something isn't wrong? I was hesitant to comment because ride quality has alot to do with your expectations and perception. I found the stock Raptor smoother than our previous truck (02 silverado). I wouldn't say it was Escalade smooth.. but I found it nice and comfy, not jarring at all. Then we went RPG Stage 4+ because Yukon plans on doing serious offroading. The ride was a little smoother, but really only noticeably so offroad. Then our springs sacked out (first generation, problem has been resolved) and I finally felt the jarring that i think you are referring to... only due to the sacked springs.. New springs and she is cushier than ever. Like I said, maybe something is wrong with your truck, or something is wrong with your expectations and on road 3.0's probably wont fix that for you..

I can agree that the ride is a lot rougher than a F-150. I came from a 2012 Platinum and it is a night and day difference on the road. I too don't get to offroad much but am looking for a better street able ride. I talked to RPGS and they will do a custom valving specific for my needs, so you might give them a call. I can tell that I road in a truck with RPG's National springs and stock shocks that made a noticeable difference.
