must do performance mod. if you have to ask why, don’t worry about this one.

totally embarrassing ford didn’t do this from the factory to save a couple bucks.

helpful hints:
- take swaybar off at frame. 15mm bolts. everything else can stay together.

- have fresh, sharp drill bits and a center punch.

first side, one hour. second side, 30 minutes.

I need to do this…. So you have to buy 2 kits correct? 1 for each side ?

Yup. I just did the smaller inner plate. Adding the 2nd 1/8" plate AND using the SPC bolts combined and you kinda run out of threads, as they are the same length as oem (iirc).

BTW, that's the vent fitting in the center, correct? Don't remember seeing a vent tube when I dropped the diff housing.

We already discussed this. Plenty of room to weld in the tripler plates and use the SPC kits.

good thought. it’s pretty decent metal in shear, but your point is taken. i’ll fire up the welder today.

those plates are just mild stell zinc coated, right?

just grind it clean and fire it off?
