Wonder what that spare goes to?

If I read the thread on ExPo right, that is the same size as the rest of the wheels/tires, just with a steelie wheel and a BFG mud terrain instead? :shrug:

Kind of a ****** execution of a spare, if its completely unlike the rest of your wheels. :ROFLJest:

@MajorAR.

Its not the exact build I'd do, but "complete abortion"? Nawww. Id want to retain the rear bumper profile (backup sensors/backup camera use) mount the spare a bit higher, maybe put two in there if at all possible. The type of build I want I really can't reasonably put the spares in the bed like most have them mounted.

However I do really like @dotcomrade's Overland rack. I'm gonna see if a local fab shop can do something up similar too it. I'd love to do it myself but my skill and time are just not there to do it myself.

Got a little inspiration of where I want to go with my [more overland oriented] Raptor build that I will be undertaking here in the next few months:

I'm doing a full overland build including a basecamp trailer. I live in PNW, no Baja around here. Lol

Yeah a rack system/concept like that is pictured above....would be destroyed in about 30 seconds the way most of us drive out here in the west/SoCal.

Would look cute on an FX4 however. Lol.

It's literally just a strip of red leather with three stitches in it. Cut the stitches and it comes right off. I bought a piece of red marine vinyl from Joann fabrics and replicated the strip (3 7/8" long 1" wide with the sides folded in to make it 3/4") wrap it around the wheel and re-stitch. 30 minutes and you're done. Will add some more photos when I get to a computer.
