Every dealer F-up is because of covid. Where have you been? :)

Hahaha

I think I'm more annoyed by North Central Ford's attitude about it. They told me initially the driveshaft would be in 11/20. I call then to check on it and was told it's now due in on 12/20. Call yesterday and they tell me it's still backordered and they will call me when it's there, no ETA. Basically stop bugging them about it. I also asked to have the recall performed for the freezing door latch when I initially took the truck in. They told me no we don't do those because it doesn't get cold enough here in Texas. Really, guess since this is a Texas truck it's never going to see freezing temps? Actually it would be seeing freezing temps next week in Colorado if it had functioning 4 wheel drive.

At least it sounds like you're driving it. They had my truck for two months of the summer hiking and camping season. If I'd known, I'd have waited until winter to take it in. With the fancy traction control on these things, you'll be fine in Colorado so long as you stay on the roads. It's cold enough here that we seldom get that nasty barely-frozen hardpack with a layer of water on it that you see in warmer more humid areas like the PNW. Or Texas when it does snow there. :) I got by for years with 2wd ... and I went skiing a lot.

This is a stealership that not only doesn’t want your business, it doesn’t want other people’s business. If they’re a big enough franchise to have a social media presence, you should let people know this is what they can expect. This is a fairly powerful tool to get action for stealerships that care about their rep. I try to leave regular feedback, good or bad so I’m not just an angry, bitter, dissatisfied customer all the time. If they do a good job I tell about it too.

Some other savvy users on FRF suggested having the stealership parts department search other dealer inventories as well as their own, which they do not do by default... but they can.

That’s pretty cr@ppy service for sure.

Great suggestions, will be doing both and I look forward to receiving a survey from Ford as well. At this point I honestly don't want North Central Ford touching my truck again. I'll definitely check with the other dealer and see if they can help locate the part though.

I'm on the 6th week waiting for parts for a complete rear end rebuild. They gave me an ETA for parts and they said "Around" the 1st of January.

There are some circumstances where Covid is to blame. It's been delaying a lot of products for us. Partially due to increased sales and lower production numbers is my guess. I have some backorders that are 5-6 months old.

Auto industry aside when I ordered a mountain bike I was told 8 months for delivery before calling everywhere in the country to find one in stock and overpay smh. So I personally think it's a little of both from my experiences this year.
