My truck is currently on the middle perch, but I have the front end torn apart right now to replace the uniballs in my UCAs, seriously considering going to the top perch.

Do you need the alignment cams to get it to align correctly? How rough is the ride compared to the mid perch? Any other drawbacks anyone can think of?

I'm caught in the middle/upper perch conundrum also ... a possible drawback that perhaps the forum members can address is rear sag. How much sag is there when you load 400+ lbs of gear into the bed? I mean, as I understand, the middle perch gives a level or very slight nose down posture while the upper perch will give a nose up posture, unloaded. If one starts loading the bed up with gear (spare tires, fuel, water, camping gear, etc) how severe will the nose be pointing up?

Good to know. I guess I could get it aligned without them and if it isn't right I could get em then. Trying to avoid spending more hundreds, as this front end project is getting pricy.

So one more time. I really like the truck on the mid perch, is the top going to be better? I offroad alot, but I street the truck alot too. I don't have a swaybar either.

I personally find that the increased spring load on the top perch makes the truck want to bounce up a little more in the rough stuff. It feels like as soon as the front tires lose contact with the ground you get a harsher un-compression of the spring that comes into play (if that makes any sense). I've run my truck on all three settings. I say if you're happy on the mid-perch, leave it there. Just my opinion...

does this mod add any more stress to the suspension or any other parts at all?? i know its a different type of set up but when i did a level kit on my GMC it was killing tie rods.

i would like to go top perch but would it be safer to do middle perch or will i not see an issues in the long run with the top?

can anyone help me with this??

There will be SLIGHTLY more stress on the components. However, it will be nearly as bad when going with something like a spacer as those make the suspension want to over extend because of the spacer. this method keeps all the suspension geometry the same just increases the pre-load on the spring.
