Lets be honest here, everyone would STILL be butt hurt with a smaller v8. Why? Because 4.0 or 5.0 is smaller than 6.2, simple as that. Its a machoism thing around these parts.

People dont care that the NEW ecoboost has more power or torque. They wont care if it proves to be 100x more reliable than the 6.2. They dont care if it sounds amazing with an aftermarket exhaust. They dont care to take a bunch of weight off the front end of their trucks.

People rag on guys with big trucks and say they are compensating for something. Well, this whole crying about the ecoboost vs the 6.2 because its a smaller motor doesnt help that argument one bit.

Lets be honest, you don't even own a raptor. peace out

Your point? I cant comment on motors? I cant comment on trucks? I cant comment on turbos?

I own modded turbo cars (subies), Ive owned 4 v8 Jeeps, 2 of which are heavily modified and get less than 8mpg each. The whole big nasty v8 game in a monster of an off-road vehicle is nothing new to me.

I do not own a Raptor because I passed on the 2014 for the 2016 (now 2017) because my wife decided to go to pharmacy school so I paid $60k for that instead. There is nothing holding me back financially at all from owning a Raptor. I decided to go with the newest platform and pay the truck off almost in full when its released. Being financially responsible and not having to live under a truck payment is my goal. I have 4 vehicles all paid off sitting in my driveway so I can wait for the new Raptor.

Ill say it again. A big v8 doesnt make you a man. It doesnt neuter the truck. Ive seen straight 6 motors dominate v8s on the hill and in the mountains. Stop compensating for your motor size and learn how to drive.

But Im glad the Raptor community isnt very welcoming to prospective and new buyers. Youll never see that kind of douchbaggery in the jeep community or in local Jeep clubs.

What are you talking about? Im one of those old-school V8 'purists' and I would be extremely happy with a small displacement V8.

I'd take a 4.0 TT V8 over a much larger V6 any day of the week.

Simply put, you just dont get it.
