I don't believe the new Raptor is called an SVT Raptor since they don't exist by that name anymore....FPG Raptor is correct, yes.

Sooo MMD.... Maybe I missed it but are you actually planning to BUY a gen 2 rap or just stirring the pot?

  • I'm planning on buying a Gen 2 Raptor
  • I'm disappointed at seeing how people on this site are like the naysayers on the other forums (the taillight haters on the C7 Corvette forums are a wonderful example of the closemindedness of all the naysayers).
  • I KNOW naysayers will buy the Gen 2 Raptor even if they "hate" the sound of the Twin Turbo V6. They will buy.
  • I'm stirring the pot. That's what every post, to some degree, does on an internet forum. We can be sure that someone somewhere hates every post and every poster.
  • And this forum, like all forums, needs the pot to be stirred especially when, over time, the old guard...The Pioneers, The Originals, The Early Adopters, those who bought the first Raptors! The Veterans of multiple other Raptor forums (there were OTHER forums?!) drift away and the subject (Raptor) becomes less exciting (until Gen 2 comes out!).
  • My opinion is worth the same as every other poster on the internet. It's worth what you pay for it. HA HA

And what about you? Are you "actually planning to buy a Gen 2 Raptor or are you just stirring the pot? :ROFLJest:

Don't know yet but I'm not all that emotional regarding the subject either.

Personally I will need to see, feel, touch, drive, maybe lick one before I decide to go gen 2. The pumpkin white latte has been a good truck and just ticked over 16K miles so there's some life left in those legs should I decide to hold onto it.

What I see is Ford building a wannabe truck for the Prius crowd. What next, an all electric Lightning? Puhlease. If a forced induction V6 is sooooo great why are so many dumping them, after spending thousands building them, for V8s in the jeep community. A V6 is a minivan motor pure and simple. A turbo or two is not going to matter

How does taste (or is it mouth feel?) play into whether to purchase or not?
Pretty much every 2017 thread turns into a v6 vs v8 whining thread at this point.
Unfortunately.... And regardless of anyone's position on the issue, it gets old.

I don't really give a shit one way or the other. I'm a dyed in the wool V8 guy, but am interested to be the first one in my corner of the world to **** around with one of these. The idea of being able to get north of 600 HP without even trying or spending a fortune is certainly worthy of getting my attention.
I have zero interest in EVER getting rid of my small block rides because I love the sound too much. I also am pretty good at voiding a nice factory warranty within a couple of days of taking delivery so that's not a consideration. So the V6 vs. V8 debate/ whine can rage on, I'm sure the big boys out west will be/are having all kinds of fun with the development of dust proofing these things. My crystal ball says a turbo V6 will win Baja within 2 years.

16,000 miles! Jeez, you're hardly qualified to comment on a Raptor since you don't seem to drive it :ROFLJest:

Oh yeah, "a wannabe truck for the Prius crowd!"

A "minivan motor"

You ought to start your own automobile magazine.

Only the ones I take off your truck genius. :flipthebird:

The only LED lights I own and I own quite a number of them all ALL Rigid products.
