Sorry justvettn,s statement about GM motors got my blue blood going. Ford is going all out with new performance models this we know, and through an inside source I was told that their is a group of 5.0 liter turbo Raptors in testing. Raptor R perhaps, that's what I'm looking for. Source was right about the new Ford GT so lets hope this pans out as well. I was told about the flat plane crank motor for the Shelby being developed on the dyno a year before it was announced so my resolve is good. Now its up to the fellas at Ford to give us a second performance motor option to choose from. like a F150 or Mustang.

I'll be first in line for a Raptor R if you're right about the 5.0 or any V8 for that matter. Otherwise I'll be getting an f150 or tundra and building a raptor killer.

450hp from all new TT 3.5L is not that impressive, having in mind an almost decade old 2.0L motor in Mitshubishi Evo X is pushing almost 300hp with its final edition this year said to be making around 400hp. In addition, I have a feeling the real world fuel economy is not going to be that great too.

post the dyno chart of your 2.0L Evo making that power and see why that wouldn't work well in a truck application

Evo FQ400 (400 HP) - Top Gear had it racing a lambo mercialago which it had no issues keeping up with. Issue was once off boost it was slower than a smart car. Don't remember the season.

Exactly. I have a modded Subie and its useless until it hits boost which takes forever. Pretty much the opposite of what you want from a truck.

The big question is, is it a tuned up standard 3.5L ecoboost or a detuned version of the GT? If it's the standard 3.5L with a more performance oriented tune there might not be much room to grow.

It's an all NEW 3.5L EB and most likely a detuned version of what the GT will get:

"instead of the old truck’s 411-hp 6.2-liter V-8, sits a new twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 engine with direct fuel injection. While it shares a displacement figure with the larger of the two EcoBoost V-6s available in the regular F-150, the Raptor’s mill features a new aluminum block and upgraded internals, revised heads, and tweaked fuel-delivery equipment."
