Just my .2 cents.. Were all bitching about the new EB motor replacing the V8.. but lets be honest. Who the **** wouldn't buy the new raptor even with that motor. Im a hard core V8 guy myself and the EB wouldn't stop me from buying it. You can always do an engine swap with something sexier.. end rant. start complaints.

Id like to see someone find a legit dyno chart on a super charged 6.2L in a Raptor because the current 3.5L EB in the 2015 Navigator has its max torque at a pretty low 2750rpms (460lb-ft.). The reason for this is smaller twin turbos that spool quicker. I do not think a supercharger is going to substantially increase down low torque to under 2750rpms.

max torque = 531 rwtq / 664 fwtq @ 4200 rpm
@ 2750 rpm, the torque is 460 rwtq / 575 fwtq

I don't have a chart for the stock truck, but it was around 280 rwtq / 350 fwtq @ 2750 rpm.

The supercharger definitely adds a substantial amount of torque down low and everywhere else.

Some questions before I jump on this statement. Do you know the difference between a roots type blower and a centrifugal and a turbo? Specifically how they spool up? Then answer your own question on TQ curves. Your answer will be very interesting. Please amaze us with YOUR answer.

Yes. Centrifugal is much like a turbo but belt driven instead of exhaust. They do not produce a lot of low end torque.

Roots type are also belt driven but produce a flatter torque curve that starts low with linear power. Good for low end torque.

Can a supercharger produce low end tq curves? Of coarse. I want to see a 6.2L with a supercharger to see what it does down low thats why I asked because I do not know. I want to know if it is substantially better than properly setup ttv6.

so......basically the ecobeast in the next gen raptor will have more hp and torque, would beat my raptor off the line, but will probably sound like shit? hmmmm. so what would my preference be? i dont drag race very often, but i listen to my 6.2 liters of fury blasting a symphony outa my mbrp turndown every single day. i think im happy with my v8.

The more important question: how can I figure out a way to keep my 14 and buy a new one? Regardless of whether you want a v6 or v8, just have both ! Now to ***** myself out just to pay for it...

Me. I have always stated its ugly. The EB motor is the icing on the cake that will make sure I don't buy one.

If I have no other choice, ultimately I will buy one. But I certainly wouldn't rush out to get one. And if they never offer another engine, I'd probably hold onto my tux black '13 screw indefinitely.

Rumors of the eco-boost replacing the Boss are what prompted me to get off the fence and go ahead and buy my current truck, by the way. And I know I'm not the only one.

So this does matter to people. I hope Ford is listening.
