Am I the only one who is sick of hearing about the weight difference? You can easily have 500lbs of accessories and passengers so depending on how you run your truck the difference is negligible.

Have they said anything about adding the weight back in to the truck like they did with the Super Duty? For example the fully boxed frame and more crossmembers etc.?

They already added in 150 lbs somewhere. Initial reports were 500 lb weight savings with the aluminum. Now they are reporting 350 lbs lighter, so maybe that's what is happening......

Going to wait to see if the 18 has the turbo V8. Might consider another Raptor. Will be able to turn that one into a real screamer!!

Was going to get another GM 6.2 but will wait. Did not have good luck with my modified Raptor (nothing broke because of my suspension mods) on the things like ac, blender door actuators, power roof, power windows, drive line clunk and some other small issues. Gen II is a good looking truck without the go fast stickers!!! Gen II will sell well but those that get the 1st year ringy dingy motor are going to take a big hit when the v8 comes out. Mark my works...

Has anyone considered why they did the engine swap in 2010? I just don't see them repeating the same on a truck that hasn't been rushed into production. That doesn't mean I wouldn't mind if they did.

When I ordered mine, I kindly asked for the 5.2 gt350 motor in the special notes. Hopefully they caught that because I'll be pissed if it shows up with the 3.5.

Now that's funny!!

The Raptor weighs over 2000lbs more than the GT350 and the 5.2 makes it power at high rpms (over 5000) . Below its 5000rpm range it’s hp is under 350 and about 250hp at about 3000 and below rpms. Just with the Raptor’s extra weight and big tires alone, you would have to stand on the gas pedal to get it into the 7000rpm range in order to tap into the 500hp potential. It would only be good for drag racing(if that), not for what the Raptor is intended for.
