I think most people would agree that the Eco v6 is a great engine in it's own right. And if specs/numbers were the only issue then we wouldn't be having a discussion here. Obviously, there's more to it than sheer hp/torque numbers.

In my opinion, the only valid reason for complaining about the V6 is indeed the exhaust tone. That will be missed no doubt.....you can't really fake that.

Once again, I will refer everyone to the thread title before you pass anymore judgment. That is simply my $.02.

I disagree.... I have owned a few Turbo cars/trucks including a turbo 03 Cobra. So I for one don't hate turbos. I just DO NOT want a little TT6 in a Raptor and it has nothing to do with the exhaust note. I honestly would prefer a NA V8 for what I intend to use it for (off road/overlanding trips). It they feel the need to boost it at least drop a TTV8 in it.

I get it though, the ecoboost doesnt sound manly so you lose your man card. Im married and comfortable with my sexuality so I have nothing to prove. Sign me up for the new Raptor.

Why is it that so many eco-boost fans need to make this comment? I just don't like V6s. I don't think you're a girl for wanting one.

I've driven plenty of fast V6 cars. My dad used to have one hell of a sleeper in his built SSEi. The thing was tan. A tan Bonneville. That was fast. Cool car but the exhaust note sucked. So, not for me.

Glad you're comfortable with your sexuality, though. That's really good to know.

I love forced induction. In my street cars. I've have more turbo and twin turbo cars than I have NA ones. However, I happen to love having my truck be an NA V8. I don't think the EcoBoost V6 is a bad motor, it will make power. I will reserve my judgement about it's off road prowess until some people have had them for over a year or two and nothing has blown up.

The fact of the matter is probably 80% of Raptor owners don't use this truck for it's intended purposes at all. So Ford is pandering to the general public and good for them they'll sell a ton of $70k street queen trucks that will have a lot of cool features that the owners will never use. But they'll be able to beat their buddy's diesel in a stop light grand prix.

I'm holding out hope for a 5.2 V8 option. If they don't make one and the V6TT turns out to be good, I might get one but I'm certainly not jumping up and down to get on the list. I'll wait until the 1st year kinks shake out.

Not stepping on toes but the Raptor is dead plain and simple. Had the SVT RUN!!! Now it is just a production or "optioned" F150 with a ringy dingy motor.

Nothing special about it and it will even be available xplan now. Hated to see it but SVT runs are usually short ones. Now it is just a regular item.

Ford has bet the farm and all of the kids on the V6 turbo ringy dingy so no way a V8 is in the cards unless it flops then to hell with saving face Ford might consider it.
