Sooo, isn't there someone here who hates the 3.5 ecoboost???

The Ford F-150 PowerBoost hybrid engine starts with a muscular twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 engine called the EcoBoost. This engine is impressive in its own right, offering both the muscle of a V-6 and the added power of the twin-turbochargers. It is currently offered on the new Ford F-150 truck.
Ford does not stop with the titanic V-6, however. The design team added a hybrid electrical system to the V-6 in order to reach new heights of power. This hybrid configuration includes a 41-horsepower electric motor and a 1.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that work together to make the truck even stronger.
What the hell did they mean by “Titanic”

Never hated the ecoboost but the very first vehicle we had with one was I guess a lemon of an engine. 3.5LTT in a 2013 explorer sport.
Loved the torque of the engines.

Sort of want to get an expedition with the H.O. 3.5L for the wife but not at the current prices/rates.

Well I own one of those also in a Taurus SHO. It has been basically flawless for 125k. Other than the water pump which is a known issue with the 3.5 ecoboost in the front wheel drive platforms (Taurus/flex/Explorer). I changed ours at 118,000 as preventive.

What issues did yours have?

I have had far more issues with 3.5 ecoboost than I did with 3.8 GTR motor ....... but I did keep this one 6 years vs. 3 years

I'm thinking they were referring to the Titans, larger than life, rather than the POS that sank on it's maiden voyage and took most of the passengers down with it. But you never know when woke tree huggers get involved in writing copy. Fraudian slip, maybe?

Isn't the 3.8GTR a hand built $30k motor? More like a GT500 in its application (meaning low volume special vehicle) if I am correct I sure would hope you had less problems with it than with a massively mass produced engine that about 300,000 a year are made (rough estimate) (engine produced ever 2 minutes)
Basically the popular engine in the most popular vehicle in the country (around here the 3.5 ecoboost out numbers the 5.0 v8 by about 300 to 1, hell we see 5 times more 2.7 ecoboosts than V8s)

True, it was hand build and had small plaque showing who did it in engine bay.

Some reason I can't quote your post.

Noticed oil on the filter after an oil change after 60k miles. Thought at first it was residue. No oil ever on the garage floor Wiped it and checked a week later and there was a drip. Filter was tight but I thought just replace the filter to make sure if it had a defective gasket. Made sure to wipe down the area with more care etc... Still a drip on the bottom of the filter.

Took it to Ford, they looked it over, nothing first time. Still was occuring, so took it back 2 more times till they looked it over in more detail till they realized the oil was coming from between the Head and the block.
So, they had a Ford engineer come out, make sure the truck had no signs of over heating etc... Diagnosed it as a porous/bad head. They figured out that oil would leak out when the engine was cold and then when it got warm it would expand ever so slightly to seal it back up. Never noticed any noticeable losses of oil and changed the oil back then every 3-4k miles so never ran it long distances between oil changes.
The engine tech we knew at the dealer was requesting a new shortblock too based off what he saw from damage from the pistons,forget if it was related or just found when they took it apart, but Ford only authorized the head change.

Also replaced the water pump then too as they noticed it was showing signs of possible failure.

I had more pics of the teardown but switching from Android to Iphone scrambled the older pics around as this was in ~2017 and it's taking a while to scroll through them all.

The reason I say you are re-****-ed is because it isn't 2011. And you are being chicken little saying the "sky is falling V8 rules".

We are well past proving that turbo V6 is a viable alternative to V8 power.

About the same as saying horses are better than cars in 1955.

Also the same as saying "aluminum bodies suck" in 2015.

Your arguments do not hold water anymore.
