The PowerBoost being a 3.5 ecoboost + hybrid, well what you willing to wager??

(Hint 3.5 non-turbo I believe is being dropped AND also 3.5 non-turbo doesn't have enough HP to drive hybrid system of the power required to make up the difference in the removal of turbos, meaning you can not remove 100 + hp from the IC engine and add it to the hybrid system without the IC engine suffering. Also since the loss of the FWD explorer/Taurus/flex platform nothing uses the non-turbo 3.5 sooooo it makes no sense to keep it for the F150 hybrid when less than 2% of sales are base 3.5)

Soooooo again I ask what are you willing to put on the line in a friendly wager????

1st is 2014 F150, used by a roofing company. So not treated kindly.

My customers may not appreciate anything that gives any indication of personal info so I will leave it at that.

Sort of comparing apples to oranges though because emissions and other factors come into the reason why engines get updated /replaced nowadays.
Although I've personally seen the 300 six and 302v8 go 300k plus after they were fuel injected.

They put that inline 6 in everything from k loaders to tugs to gosh only knows what over the years. Great engine. I had a 1990 f150 with 5 speed that had it. There are times I wish I had kept that truck.

I had a 1992 Super cab with the same combo. No powerhouse, but was a good engine. My personal favorite is the 351w from back in the day. Lot's of good experiences with that engine .

The previous owner of my 18’ 802A has a large fleet all-F150 pest control business throughout N TX. He told me he orders new ones when they get 200K on them. He said he’d tried other makes but F150s held up the best…
BTW my 802A just passed 60K, running strong with no issues!

You are re-fuxking-tarded, the 3.5 eco-boost has been around 14 years as of the 2024 model year. That is a good run for a modern engine. lets examine some others.
7.3 psd 1994-2003
5.4 2v 1996-2004
5.4 3V 2004-2011 in the F150, 2014 in the expedition.
6.2 2010-2022
6.0 psd 2003-2007
6.4 psd 2008-2010
351 Cleveland 1971-1973
Yamaha V6 SHO 1989-1995
3.4 V8 SHO 1996-1999
6.9/7.3 diesel 1983-1994


There have only been a couple of engines in Ford's line up that have longer life than the 3.5 ecoboost, 289/302/351 family and the 460 family, technically the 4.6/5.0/5.4/5.8 are the same family but there have dozens of variations, the 4.6 itself probably has the longest production run.

No sir, I was not aware of that last night when I wrote my post here. It does not seem to be available today, either. On the Ford site, the information on the 3.5L PowerBoost reads, "Ford doesn't just make progress, it defines it. Available 3.5L PowerBoost full hybrid V6 engine. This groundbreaking engine pulls from the collective power of both gas and electric energy, because teamwork gets the job done. It's torture tested, Built Ford Tough, and features 430 hp and 570 ft-lbs of torque." No mention of turbos or EcoBoost technology.

The Edmunds review says, "Power outputs for the remaining engine lineup are unchanged, though Ford says it's going to drop the price for the optional PowerBoost hybrid to make it the same as the optional turbocharged 3.5-liter V6." Again, no mention of turbos and the implication is that the boost on the 3.5L PowerBoost comes from the hybrid electrical system, and the boost on the 3.5L EcoBoost is from the twin turbos.
