i sure will Thank You!!
also while prep'n the modules i thought of extending the D2D wire and (574) ignition 1 wire to (dball)9:eek:range/yellow(+) ignition RS, that way one can be near the ign sw and the other near the BCM,
is ths a bad idea?

not necessary, as i dont like cutting those wires since they are so small, but however you decide to mount your modules just make sure they are secure

one more thing,
for those wanting to add only a sensor(s) to the factory alarm, is it possible to add a... lets say
DEI 508D sensor to the hood switch?, the 508D can trigger a relay that closes or opens as required by the factory hood switch using a ground always on and a pos + signal when armed to the 508D sensor,

if we use a double relay we can do the first stage on one to do the chirp warning on a siren and the second stage to do the factory alarm thru the hood switch

makes sense?

sounds like it would work, however you might need to use a tr7 or other low voltage trigger, to activate the standard automotive relay. there might not be enough current, so you would have to test to see

voltage would not vary much but the 200ma GND coming out of the sensor may not be enough to trigger the regular relays , i would need to run a bench test and get actual readings from them
tr7 will totally do a better job ,

1 sensor
2 relays
1 siren
this would put parts at around 100.00 (retail prices)

I think everyone should add a cable hood lock. Easy to install and very hard to bypass. The hood can be opened by a screwdriver in just a few seconds.

is not about hood security is about entire vehicle security (motion ,tilt ,radar, shock,) triggered Thru the hood switch into the factory security sys.

a hood cable is good if all is kept under it,are you using one of them?
if so how is it rigged?

its really simple to install. Its a cable with a barrel key lock that is mounted under the dash on the edge. When you unlock(with key) the barrel locks pops out about 1/4 inch to lock you just push in with finger. The cable goes to the hood latch(under hood) and pins it (locked) The only way to get around it would be to cut it, but next to impossible. I don`t have any pictures but they should be all over the web or just contact any (most) stereo alarm shops.
