ok bo, here is how you lock the buttons on the 1 way remote.

hold the f button for 8 seconds until it emits 1 long beep this is the programming mode
press and release the unlock button. you should see 2 flashes on the remote.
press lock to turn on/off the autolock feature
press and release the f button to go back/exit. each press goes back one step. when the led turns off you have exited programming.

to access the buttons you need to press the f button followed by the button you wish to access

Awesome, thanks Hombre.

At first I thought it wasn't working, or I wasn't programming it right, but after some trial and error I realized after following your instructions above you have to leave the remote untouched for a while (I dunno, maybe 10 seconds?) for it to lock itself. Once that happened now I have to hit F then Unlock in order to get the buttons to work. No more accidental remote starts.

probably not. i just did a search on these alarms. people can buy them at well below my cost. pretty lame that these are ****** out everywhere. the one good thing about buying from a dei authorized dealer is the warranty. i just pulled out an alarm from 14 years ago and sent it in. they are sending me a new one (updated model) free of charge. but most people wouldnt care about that kind of warranty and would rather save a few hundered dollars. you can seriosly buy 2 alarms for the retail price of one. to be honest there is no way i could even compete with some of these prices. the only thing i got going for me is that im an authorized dealer, but still.....

I got this one 3 years ago installed for only $550.00 out the door.
They wanted way more but I kept calling each shop that installed it and each one kept beating
the other persons deal until they couldn't go any lower.
Yes I'm a **** for doing that but I needed a good deal after spending all my money on the truck.

I don't think your a **** for doing that, its smart bussiness if you have the time to get it done. But again sometimes the lowest price does not get the best quality install.
