i have driven the raptor -- in detroit last year, and i'm getting one for the show this year as well. i've also driven one on ford's test track in dearborn with SVT chief engineer Jamal Hameedi!

i have no inside information, but to clarify, i meant i'm waiting to see the 2015 f-150. in my opinion, 2014 is the end of the raptor. that is both sad -- ford makes an absolute killing on it (notice the price with option$ goes up each year as truck remains the same?) -- but also cool because it will be a limited commodity.

I bought a 2014.....I'm not willing to "see" if they come out with one in 2016 with a v8. If they do I will just buy another one. Also, the Raptor has gone up in price as it has progressed. Anyone on here that owned a 2010 will tell you that there are many differences between the 2010 and the 13/14’s.

Have you driven a Raptor? I have never felt mine needed more power.

Have you owned a faster truck? Coming from Lightnings and supercharged Harley trucks, the Raptor is a dog in the power department lol. Still very respectable for it's size though, especially being N/A. I've gone 14.9 in the 1/4 in mine bone stock, but I'm more of a straight line speed freak than offroader. Raptor is just my DD lol. I can always use more power! But I will say it's not a disappointment like a N/A 5.4 was in feeling underpowered. My N/A HD truck was 1k lbs lighter and over a second slower inthe 1/4. So for the Raptor to be 1k lbs heavier, and over 1 second faster, I was very impressed with that aspect. The 6.2 feels sufficiently powered, just still always want more power lol

I decided to get a Raptor in early 2011. I waited out 3 months for the order banks to open to order a 2012, then waited another 6 months to get my 2012. In the end, I should have just gotten a 2011 and had it 9 months earlier, the front camera and torsen front diff weren't enough of a difference for me to have waited 9 extra months lol. The next gen f150 will have more goodies and features and capabilities, but it's still a long ways out. Snag one up now, enjoy it for a couple years, then if the upgrade is worth it, swap out while the retail value on yours is still relatively high.

I agree 2014 may be the end of the Raptor. If you look at the history of SVT and the vehicles they have produced, history says it is time for the end. I hope it is not but time will tell.

gms 6.2 make about 400 in truck form. so it still has less than the raptor

No it will walk away from a Raptor. I have had both.

That was I thought as well. And of course the GM truck looks:iranmaybe:if you ask me.

Ahhh Counselor--see what happens when you think:badidea:. Opposing Counsel wins.

Giving the Depends wearing Boob the above ration of reality the Raptor with a 5 Star programmer, CAI, exhaust is pretty fricking stout off road esp with suspension modifications and 37in tires. On the street it is at a disadvantage with the DI GM motor.

Point is 99.5 % of the Raptor owners will not get the most from the motor off road because of other reasons including driving experience to limitations of the suspension.

Faster truck, yes! I own a modded 2001 Lightning that runs low 12's and a 2006 Jeep SRT-8 that runs high 12's, as well as an '03 Z-06 that's in the 11's. But I still find the Raptor has plenty of power for anything within its design envelope. I have no issue with those who choose to S/C their Raptor. I just suggested that a prospective buyer should experience the factory output before determining it is inadequate for his/her use!
