I can’t imagine being so insecure in my vehicle ownership to get to the point of claiming that an old and outdated model is somehow “better” than the new model based on subjective attributes and false perceptions.

Apparently improvements on the newer generations are threatening to those who are too insecure to admit that their vehicle has been replaced by a better model.

If someone gave you a MINT Ford Model-T, would you take it? How about a 2006 Ford GT, or a '57 Vette?

Some of us are completely happy and THRILLED with our orginals. :D

When I was searching for a new car 17 years ago, I wanted something that there was not a lot of and that you didn't see everywhere. I started looking at classic cars, then discovered the car that I bought, a new release that year, VERY low production numbers. THEN I discovered that a turbo version had just been announced. SOLD! Custom ordered, selected all options myself, deleted some standard options. Garage kept, still looks brand new, turns heads everywhere I go, still pretty rare. Wife and I love driving it on weekends. I'll leave it to others to guess what it is.

Looked at over 800 Raptors, 98% of them Gen 2. Desperately wanted one. Found a mint Gen 1, 8-cyl, black, customized, SOLD!

LOVE that 8-cyl growl! :D

To each their own.

Gen 1. And it’s not close. V8 plus aftermarket Corsa exhaust. You’re welcome.

Follow me me for more girl-getting tips.
Sounds like a girl waiting for her package delivery from FedEx. Same engine sound/drone. Then she sees you pull up in your 10 year old pickup. Awkward.

Nobody is giving away anything. So that’s irrelevant.

And the majority of us are completely happy and thrilled with the newer and better truck. Yet it seems to be only the jen juan owners who consistently try to minimize the newer/better models in order to justify their choice in a vehicle. It wreaks of insecurity.

And I would much rather hear the sound of the twin Borg Warners spooling up over the drone if the old 6.2 SOHC fleet bus engine. But as you said, to each their own.

I respect your knowledge but come on man. Don't be such a Hater. Its a Great Solid REALIABLE TRUCK. As for as Power well one can make anything go faster or quicker and I and many others have no complaints about it. The power delivery is excellent and predictable. If I wanna win drag races, I'll do it in a muscle car, not a 3 Ton truck. Mine has been and still is the most reliable and fun vehicle I have ever owned. I like all the Raptors. But choose to keep my Gen 1 cause it's still a Beast and Reliable as hell. And for about 16 grand I can make it New again and add Many many more years of Happiness

FTO is driving an old, outdated Gen 2 preaching to Gen 1 owners about their old, outdated Gen 1's so why isn't he driving the latest and greatest Gen 3 or ordering Raptor R? There is nothing wrong with being satisfied with the vehicle you own and not needing all the bells and whistles of the latest and greatest and the problems that come with them. I LOVE my Raptor and there is nothing wrong with that.

What you fail to comprehend is that I’m not on here talking trash on the Gen 3 and baselessly claiming my G2 is “better”. It’s the newer model and offers a lot of improvements. I don’t need to own one to state that.

You, on the other hand, spend the majority of your time talking trash and trying to put down the new models to make yourself feel better about your 12 year old truck that you somehow think is “collectible”. This is the theme of the majority of your posts; you have the mentality of a child:

Doh! You got me.

Try watching some country music videos (a good amount of them are made right here in "Music City" TN). Country babes are pretty hot for guys with "old" trucks, they're pavement queen snobs.

AGAIN.......to each their own.
