There were 6.2L engines available in the Raptor in 2010 also. The 5.4 was the standard engine for it. 6.2 was an option in 2010
One of my first raptors was a 2010 scab black on black with the 6.2, Sun roof and all the goodies. I had a blast with that truck at TRR off road events and hung with the jeeps on some of the creek adventures I took her on lol, it was or should I say still is an amazing truck since it now belongs to my brother in college station Tx.

My new truck is a 9/29 build and according to the SVT certificate is number 9400. It has all options except the Orange interior inserts, bed extender and splash graphics. The 6.2 was a 3K upgrade. I had over 50K tow miles on the 5.4 Lariat and the low end torque was suitable for towing but mileage was poor empty around town. The 2014 5.0 in STX was pretty disappointing at first but higher up in the RPM is does a great job and sounds sweet. Mileage around town is a few gallons per mile better as well over the 5.4. I look forward to the 6.2 with the over square bore-short stroke, it should sound sweet. I love Black trucks and a Gen1 Scab like your old truck hits it out of the park! This truck is going to stand out so no more being stealthy I guess. Change is good

I had no choice. I had to go with the Gen 1 because I just couldn't afford a Gen 2. That being said, if I could have afforded a Gen 2 I think I would still have gone with the Gen 1 because of the sound, and it was the first generation that started it all. It doesn't sound like you will be in same boat as I was financially speaking. The key is to be patient and wait for a great deal. I looked around for about 3 months before I got a great deal on a 2012. Great deals are out there, you just have to be patient.

Exact same here. SOOOOO glad I went with a Gen 1. I looked at over 800 Raptors before finally snagging mine at the last minute and was about to give up. So glad I got Gen 1 and not Gen 2. I am VERY HAPPY!
