A Gen 1 Raptor will never have a turbo dump oil into the exhaust. The wastegate will not fail. It's literally impossible for the intercooler to get a hole punched in it from a rock. The recirculation valve will not get a torn diaphragm. The intake piping will never have oil in it.

All of those things happened to Gen 2 trucks. Every one of them. All of these issues are easily found posted in this forum.

I won't start on the high pressure fuel pump failures, hollow camshafts twisting, and let alone the "constantly revised until the engine is no longer produced" timing setup (like every Cyclone based 3.5L TT before it as well), I know- I KNOW! ITS NOT A CYCLONE ENGINE!!! 100% clean sheet!!!! Yea I know. Even with all the time they've had to get the TT Cyclone right (12 years and 3 generations now)- it still ain't as reliable as the 6.2L- which actually WAS a clean sheet design.

Nobody is saying the TT Cyclones are a total POS- but they are nowhere near as reliable as the 6.2L and everyone knows it.

As usual, you have no clue what you’re talking about and you’re intimidated by anything that’s outperforms your boat anchor Gen 1. You list “problems” that are one offs or simply non-existent. There are no common issues with bypass valves, wastegates, or turbochargers. There are no common issues with “twisted” cams or HPFP failures. I know you don’t understand any of these things work and you’re scared of new technology, but posting misleading and just plain wrong information is not helpful to anyone.

Let’s apply your ridiculous logic to the 6.2. The EcoBoost will never have a cylinder 7 or 8 misfire. The EcoBoost will never need a MAF sensor replacement. The EcoBoost will never need the spark plug wires or pellets replaced. The EcoBoost will never have an IMRC actuator, valve, or circuit issue. The EcoBoost will never need 16 spark plugs replaced. If you don’t see how flawed and ridiculous your logic is, you’re beyond help.

You’re spreading more lies about the design of the engine; the timing drive was never revised even once. Gen 1 had a primary chain and 2 secondary chains to drive the exhaust cams. Gen 2 uses 1 chain per bank. That’s how it’s been since it debuted in 2017. And no, the Gen 2 is not a Cyclone engine, despite the fact that you’re too ignorant to understand that fact.

Nobody is saying the TT Cyclones are a total POS- but they are nowhere near as reliable as the 6.2L and everyone knows it.

Once again…where is the data? You don’t have any because all you do is spread speculation and theories. Your posts are of zero value to anyone.

Typical caveman logic for your biased and worthless opinions - “everyone knows it”

You make friends everywhere, don’t ya.

Just enjoy your perfectly engineered Ecoboost. And if/when it blows there are always helpful guys with their naturally aspirated V8’s who’ll happily tow you to the mechanic.

Anyway, I’m perplexed as to why you even drive a raptor. You seem like a hybrid type of dude. ?? Save the planet and all that. ‍♂️

You’re the one making the false claims on reliability with no data to back it up.

And you seem like an ignorant and uneducated type of dude who wears a tin foil hat. What does driving a Gen 2 Raptor have to do with “saving the planet and all that”? You’re awfully bitter than the newer truck outperforms your old one, get over it.

“Uneducated, caveman logic, ignorant, Walmart employee.” Seems to me you think of people based on their class status. Again, definitely a democrat. (Be careful of all those unvaccinated people out there)

I assume you don’t get much respect at home, so I understand you being a **** here.

So here are a few nice videos for your further education.

There you go dragging politics into a completely unrelated conversation again. My responses to you are based entirely on the baseless and ridiculous nonsense that you post and your wacko political interjections. I didn’t know caveman logic and ignorance were class statuses, you must be in a class of 1.

You know absolutely nothing.

So here are a few nice videos for your further education.

Posting random YouTube interviews entirely based on a subjective opinion is meaningless. Just like your posts. You present your biased nonsense as fact and then try to back it up with opinions. Nice try though.

Vid is a well maintained 70K mile 09-14 version of the TT Cyclone, but all the same **** is gonna happen to the 15+ variant of the TT Cyclone. Leaking coolant from the turbos, leaking oil lines, charge air cooler hoses full of oil and leaking.

"Now it's getting expensive".... Nobody is saying that working on a 6.2L.

It's NOT A CYCLONE engine!!!!! Yeah I know. You keep on driving that train.

The timing components have never been revised?
"Late build 2018 and all 2019 models had an updated part that is less likely to have an issue compared with 2017 and early build 2018 models." <= Do you recognize those words? You typed them. You were talking about the massively failure prone cam phasers in the 15+ TT Cyclone engines (67 pages of posts in just that one cam phaser thread where 1/3 reported issues in the poll).

"Updated part". Does that mean the same thing as "the timing drive was never revised even once"? Hint: Updated parts with new part numbers are a revision.

To be clear, I don't think anyone is talking about power differences. That topic is put to bed. But, the reliability topic is a fair, open point for discussion. Any time reliability is brought up, the same repeat answer of "well, it makes way more power" is always used. It really isn't 'way more power'... it just a bit. If you want 'way more power', get a TRX.
