Yeah there are areas you cannot get to without getting wet and there is plenty of salt in that water to corrode connections. My place is about 400 feet from the waves and if it doesnt rain for a while, I can see the salt spray that has dried.

You might want to try disconnecting and cleaning the connections on the sensors. There are also a few grounds on the frame you can check under the bed.

Good to know. I saw the puddles form after the rain and figured it was just flood water. Guess I won’t be making that mistake again.

I just blew out the sensors and disconnected the battery while doing it. No luck so I guess it’s slug mode back to Maryland. I’ll order the sensors now so they’re ready when I get back.

I had a speed sensor wire partially crack on my Silverado last summer. It looked fine from the outside, but even with a partial break, the computer sees a small voltage drop and has a freaking nervous break down. All kinds of trouble lights turned on, trans went into 1st and wouldn't up-shift, ABS went crazy, a real shit show almost 2 hours from my house on a Sunday afternoon, so everything is closed. I never knew so many systems relied on a speed sensor to tell them what to do.

Hopefully you get it figured out.

You can always try a Lincoln dealer. Ford told me my truck would be in their que for 3 days. Lincoln dealer was able to diagnose it the same day I brought it in.

Sounds like a loose ground to me, check all the grounds on the frame rails. One loose will do something similar. Good luck.

This is probably a dumb idea, but it's worth what you paid me. A buddy that does mud races said he puts a yard sprinkler under his truck for a few hours to clean out the underside. lol. If some shit got where it's not supposed to be, maybe some fresh water will knock it out.

Good idea. I’ll check tomorrow morning before we head out.

@MIScrEanT good idea. I did set up a service with Ford on Saturday back at home since it’s under warranty but I ordered the sensors in case I get dealer shenanigans and/or to have on hand anyway.

@GCATX i like that idea actually. I’ve been spraying it down daily and also had a car wash today so the dealer won’t give me shit about being off road. Doubt they would, but this will be my first Ford dealer service experience. I prefer my independent mechanic for regular maintenance.

Let us know what your dealer says, my 2017 as been cursed with those lights for a year now. Not sure if it would prohibit 4x4 on ours but the steering wheel would go kind of hard while these light would be on. Finally got it to our dealer and they can't figure it out. I stated a buy back claim with ford because of it. Hope to get a 2020 out of the deal..i hope they have it figured out by now..keep us posted

Mine did that last week on the way to AZ hi country for some fishing. Shout out to Show Low Ford for getting me back on the road in about 3 hours. They reloaded stuff?

Update here. Got it back to MD and ran it through the car wash twice. Removed sensors again and properly blew everything out with a compressor and gun. Ran through the car wash again and when I put it back into drive from neutral after running through power steering and everything was back to normal.

Still have a See Manual warning on the dash at start up and will take it on on Tuesday. I suspect the codes need to be cleared. My local dealer that I bought from couldn’t even get me in until Sept 1!
