Okay cool. So can you like have only ka on L and have Ka + K on l [lowercase L]

Logic mode "lowercase L" reports all X-bands, but reports them only at the muted volume. Advanced Logic mode "uppercase L" doesn't report them unless they're serious and then they come on. In my experience, even Advanced Logic mode did very little to all the X-band signals in my area. So I keep my in L mode (doesn't really matter now though) and I have X-band manually turned off and Ka sensitivity increased in the programming. I wouldn't turn K off unless you're absolutely sure it's not used where you live.

I have the 3.872 series. Is there any reason to update?

Considering that the next-gen is right around the corner, I wouldn't. Valentine1 doesn't do much marketing or hype, but according to patents, there should be some pretty big changes coming. No word on when. Rumors say next month or by year end.

Does the 3.872 have ESP? If so, I'd get V1C if you wanted to create custom Ka sweeps.

ESP is just how the Valentine1 communicates to other external devices. V1C is ValentineOne Connection and allows you to connect your iPhone or Android to your V1. Bigger display and more info including frequency and allows you to set up custom Ka sweeps. More info here: iPHONE-V1connection LE

So basically you can just have an alternate display and control from your iPhone? What is a Ka sweep?

Ka is a very wide band of radar. Instead of sweeping the entire band, you can modify the sweeps to be smaller and only focus on the frequency emitted by the radar guns used where you live and drive. By eliminating the unneeded frequencies, you gain distance.

Ah I see I don't think I'll take it that far. But it's nice not having the k band go off all the time. Is the new release an update or a whole new device?
